I’ve had a Rinnai in my house since shortly after we built 15 years ago. Originally installed a Bosch, but it didn’t work very well so we got our money back and switched to the Rinnai. I’ll never not have tankless again.

But, as @Slayer said, check your gas lines. We have propane at our house, and I had to specifically size the line and regulator to handle the 110,000 BTUs. For me, it meant a 1” line running from the regulator at the house exterior to the actual water heater with no flex lines in that run (it is at the opposite end of the house).

I also have my hot water in a recirculating loop to reduce the “cold water sandwich” you get when doing on-off-on things like washing/rinsing dishes. You just have to be sure if you do that, you DONT run the recirculation through the tankless heater or it will be running all the time (they trigger on flow through the heater).

Talk to me about this sharpening system. I couldn’t sharpen a knife to save my life. Is it easy to use? Fast? Multiple angles?

Obviously starting point is a big factor. That said, how quickly can you sharpen a reasonable sharp knife?

I didn't time it but probably 10-15 minutes I took a couple full knifes and had them sharp but not polished.

I’ve got the work sharp Ken Onion model, but don’t care for the guide setup when trying to maintain good tips or a bolster near the handle. Looks like I’m gonna have to try one of these. The work sharp can get relegated to keeping my yard machete in working order.

Definitely think about it as a future gift...it was only $160 and that's not too bad for a Japanese chef knife. Shun is a pretty decent brand and most places offer free lifetime sharpening.
This one is an 8" and I'm used to a 10" ("that's what she said") but this one feels well balanced. I have a knife drawer full of Wusthof and Victorinox, this is my first Japanese blade.

I stood in line at Kershaw’s factory one year in 20-degree temps at 6am for the factory sale in order to be one of the first ones in the door (along side a whole bunch of other nut jobs). Got a full set of Shun kitchen knives for $250 and have been using them for more than ten years. Great knives, especially at the price point. Also got a Zero Tolerance ZT0121 for $50 that day.

You made me sweat a little. I did run a few calculations beforehand. I don't know anyone in our area to have a problem, but you never know. I have a meter rated at 275 cfh, which loosely translates to 275k BTU. Adding up everything (that I can think of), we should be at 277k at peak demand. If I read it right, the meter can produce up to 15% higher than rated. It's just 2 of us, so I can't see the oven, stove top, garage heater, barn heater, furnace, dryer and hot water all consuming at full tilt at once. Anything else you can think of? I'll call for a meter upgrade if necessary. It seems we should be fine though.

Hope it all works well for your project and I hope you'll be happy with your result.

I'm just an old time .. carpenter / home builder offering up my 46 years experience for your viewing pleasure.

a 275 meter does not sound near adequate to me..

we must never assume, your meter will provide more btu's at full peak use, than what it's designed for... that said, we must always assume you will be operating at full peak for your equipment to run properly.

I don't know exactly what your specific appliances demand or draw are but, let's assume you have an equal to the btu's what I list here..

This a breakdown of the btu's on the products I use to calculate the demands of the products in the homes I build so I can calculate the correct meter size.

    furnace 80,000 to 100,000
tankless wtr heater 120,000 to 200,000
    range / cooktop 75,000
    dryer 25,000
    fireplace or heater 35,000
    bbq.. 75,000
extra stub for additional heater or fire-pit 50,000

    average demand appliances total ... 450 btu's
    high demand appliances total ... 550 btu's

    on a side note...
as @RainMan_PNW noted.. your gas pipe needs to be an 1' to 1-1/2" supply line going straight to the wtr heater 1st. only then can we tee off to other appliances or you will be unhappy with the results.
    also research... re-circulating designs.

    2nd side note..
if we use a condensation wtr heater & live in an area that has freezing weather, the condensation drain needs to be routed to an internal drain like, a sewer or septic system.. so the drain won't freeze up.

as with any products purchase... you get what you pay for.
I wouldn't buy anything but, the best wtr heater available...
    think ... Rennai
