Done. Motor runs smooth, idles smooth, pulls hard, but it has something clanking around inside, not a rod knock, but not sure what it is yet.

    Sweet!
You think you could have a lifter losing some oil? Or even loose converter.

We pulled the valve covers, the lifter is a possibility, all the bolts are tight on the converter to the flex plate.

I bought a bottle of Blanton’s last October for my father in law. Ordered from a site called Frootbat for $185. Extremely hard to find and many sites wouldn’t ship to PA. Took about a week to arrive and shipped via DHL and came from Australia.

I’ve had a bottle of Blantons for a few years. I wasn’t aware it was hard to come by. I just picked it up at my local liquor store for about $70.

Tow mirrors from Boost Auto with paintable caps. Got a guy locally that can paint them to match for a good price. Not cheap, but every option I wanted and NOT CHROME.
Pictures in a couple weeks when they arrive...

Super jealous! You doing power fold too? Excited to see them on your truck. Which light option did you get for the marker light?

Pretty much optioned them out. Smoked switchback marker/signal lights. Power fold (I’ve got an OEM switch already inbound). High output reverse lights. Heat in upper and lower mirrors. Paintable caps. It’ll be a project for sure... after 298k on my 2008 with tow mirrors, I just can’t get used to these little ones.

Sweet! I'm still trying to decide what lights I want. Can't wait to have power fold too! Hoping to get mine in 2022, other issues have come up so major truck stuff is pushed back. Excited to see yours!

I’ve been debating on tow mirrors. They would be nice for towing my camper but they stick out so far that I’m unsure if I want them or just keep using my clip on ones.

Well, I had to cancel the order. The whole point was that it was in stock and free shipping on Amazon. Originally it was supposed to ship within a few days and I would get a call to arrange the delivery. After several days of no calls I decided to check the order. It had been changed to a 6-8 week wait before they'd ship. That doesn't do me a lot of good because I can go get one elsewhere in that time, so I cancelled the order. Super pissed that they listed it as "in stock" and ships within 2-3 days only to have them push it back and mark it as out of stock with zero notification. Now if I pull it up it says it is no longer available.

It's a shame Amazon is so big that they can afford to ignore this kind of BS and they can disallow any reviews on their site that they don't like. I mean really, why would they care if one customer is unhappy and doesn't buy on their site again?

So since Covid, I just laugh about estimated arrival times. Ordered something that said it would be delivered in 3 weeks, was at my door in 3 days. The item that should have taken 4 days took 2 weeks. I've had things in stock and prepping for shipment for a week before moving (but it had technically shipped) and I've had things lost for days during transit.
I agree that they do get away with a lot but things still seem convoluted and not normal with ordering from them.

It's the ship date, not the time in transit that irked me. They said they'd ship it in 2-3 days, not that it would arrive then.

I know, I had an item say it would ship in 2-3 weeks and was at my door 3 days later. Then had items say they would be delivered in 2 days but in 3 they hadn't made it to the initial location to be shipped.
You have every right to be annoyed, but I think they are not running like normal. I've never had so many issues and differences in ship times as I have lately.

Perhaps, but if it's listed as in stock with 1 item remaining that should mean it is on hand at a warehouse somewhere.. Worst case it should ship in a few days, but I waited a week and never heard anything. They just changed it to a ship date of 4-6 weeks out. This would indicate, at least if approaching it logically, that the item was not in stock and the new ship date and updated "unavailable" status should have been conveyed. I know that everyone makes mistakes, and I worked in a warehouse so I fully get stock number errors. What isn't excusable is not notifying your customer of the issue.

I hardly tow. But I like to be able to see what’s behind me... and then be able to fold them up when I park.

Love Blantons. Have about 8 bottles of it! Have you had anything bad from Buffalo Trace? I like all their lines that I have tried.

I’ve only ever had the original Buffalo Trace. It’s my go to for mixed drinks if I’m having bourbon.
