I want this! I am planning to build a new house in the next couple of years and I would LOVE to have this but I don't know anyone who deals with this technology here in LA (Lower Alabama).

thanks man. 38 panels. larger than your average setup. wife and daughters run the house here so needed to make sure i had enough juice to power their needs. me, i just want my trickle charges, the fridge and freezers to keep runnin. lol.

before the batteries, any extra production from solar would just be put back to the grid and i would get discounts on my bill. that still happens but priority now is to juice the batteries then once their charged to a point it will start feeding the grid again. solid home investment for sure. last year, power company cut power to some homes several times in the summer for weeks on end to prevent fires under high wind conditions. they don't maintain their lines well enough. ready now if they cut us this summer. wife wasn't havin it.

if you can find someone and can fund it, definitely worth it. we went through a company called semper solaris. we wanted to support military veterans and small businesses, and they claimed to have a bunch of units in stock that they purchased from Telsa so we didn't have to wait for backordered hw. this was all true but from a business standpoint they're still growing and maturing. good people but i prob wouldn't go back because of some business and communication challenges. they did get us up and running faster than my neighbor so plus there.

Thats awesome! We have a small 5 panel setup on our house. Just enough to take the edge off, but not much more than that. Ocassionally we would dip into the negative for a couple hours, but we only produce about 1kw at the peak hours. Our power isn't really that expensive (we're on SMUD), but i know pg&e is more expensive, not to mention the fact that they do the power cuts for the fires. I'll be interesed to see how long you can keep the house up and running when the grid goes off.

I was just doing a little nosing around on the Tesla site a couple of days ago and wondered if anyone was doing this yet. It looks pretty awesome. It looked like the roof panels and setup would run me 24k. I wonder if having to shingles is a better idea, or if one should wait for the tech to get better.

Just ordered some colorlugs for my father-in-law. His biggest complaint with a white tundra and blacked out wheels has been the shiny lugs lol

yeah not sure, i was also totally new and was a forcing function with scheduled power outages in CA to prevent fires. it's not cheap for sure but over time pays for itself and def helps resale value of the property. good luck man!

Stumbled in to our local Pep Boys last week to get some Mr. Pink and found out they are closing shop.

No Mr. Pink but walked out with 3 quarts of Royal Purple 75/90 and 6 quarts of Mobile 1 75/90 for a grand total of $34.

Hahaha not until I get these student loans paid off. It is depressing when you could have bought a new tundra with the money you payed in interest alone. I guess I did just buy a new Stihl edger for my yard though...
