I wish they kept the 38 gallon capacity. With 38 gallons, it probably wouldn't be worth the effort to install an aftermarket gas tank (if it would even exist).

My manual doesn’t have that on that page….. But mine says it’s a short manual for some reason. I know how to change the speedometer, I was more talking the right side where yours says custom.

Thank you! I know this went off topic but when I saw your photo I wanted it so bad! Have had this truck for only a week and keep getting surprised with how awesome it is!

I just picked up my limited a couple of weeks ago. I do mostly city driving. I live in northern Colorado. The dealership filled it up wit 85 octane and I only got 15.5 mpg. I just filled it up with 87 octane and I’m getting 18.5. Wondering if any high altitude owners have similar experiences,

Yes run some 91 and you get closer to 20. I am in NoCo also. Sam’s and Costco have good prices.

200km trip 90% highway at 115km/h. 14.7 US MPG. Worse than my 2020 with 275/65r20 ko2’s. Current truck is on 295/70r18 wildpeaks. That tank was 50% supreme 91 octane here. Other half was 87 with “up to” 10% ethanol. Also this is running winter blend fuel.

Trip from San Antonio to Waco there was traffic along the way but I tried to stay around 65-70 mph variation is from traffic behavior and minimize use of brakes. Carrying around 700 lbs on stock tires I got this.

My range updated to 605 miles and average total mpg from 20 miles on the odo is 20.5 mpg.

Driving on sand was around 19 mpg

I've read that Sam's Club gas makes some engines have issues because its poor quality. I know it's not Top-tier, but I know Costco is. I'm contemplating getting a Costco membership to save the $1/gal versus Chevron around here. How has Costco gas done for you?

Up in WA state where we have few traffic lights or hills in town I get 18/21hwy. Down in So CA right now for the holidays where it’s hilly and a million stop lights I’m only getting 15 around town. (and taking it very easy)

We’ve been using Costco Top Tier gas since it was added to the stores after it converted from Price Club.(25+ years) At least a dozen vehicles and not one fuel related issue ever. Dont forget you also get a 4% annual rebate check on all your fuel purchases so the price at the pump is even less. Costco sets its price based on local station prices. We go to a Costco in a town with lower prices than the other 3 Costco locations around us.

Perspective: I’ve been driving/riding in a 2005 Acura MDX SUV with the 3.5 v6 as my son has his drivers license learners permit. This is our “kid car”. Just filled it up. Shocked with a bad 13.8 mpg. Same roads I drive my truck on daily. Hard to complain about my 6000lb Tundra on 34” tires and a lift getting better mileage and I drive that way harder than my kid drives.

Fuelly is always updated in my signature, but currently after 16 fill-ups and logging 4986 miles, I am averaging 17.9 MPG.

As of 7K miles. Expect it to continue to climb for awhile longer. (some report mileage peaking out between 10 & 15K mi.)

That is us mpg. Imperial would be 17.7.

the beauty of fuel used per unit of distance, ie L/100km is that it is linear. That is the difference between 5L/100km to 6L/100km is the same as 20L/100km and 21L/100km. The same can’t be said for mpg.

21mpg today from NC to Fort Lauderdale. 75mph. 1000lbs of cargo. It’s loosening up and driving better at 6000 miles. Zero problems. Transmission and motor are a perfect match.

I rarely go to Costco because it’s out of my way, but the Sam’s club is convenient to me. I have never had any troubles with their gas, but I am also aware as you pointed out it is not top tier. I used to get quite a bit of knocking on my old GMC using 85 (it called for 87, but at altitude they all say you can drop the octane), well I got some premium at Sam’s and then that truck never knocked again, drove real smooth. That has sent me down several rabbit holes on understanding fuel, and it’s a complicated subject, but the way that GMC ran on 91 made me a believer. I have kept that up on the Tundra after a bunch of reading about the turbos and octane.

If I am traveling, I do search out top tier gas, because then you can’t be sure. The Sam’s I go to has big volume, so I know the gas is replenished regularly.

if I was you I would get the Costco membership, it’s worth it.

I’ve been primarily running Sams club gas in my truck since ownership and yeah I agree with it being poor quality but when I use shell or costco I see my mileage go up quite drastically and you can tell it’s not pulling timing as much. I’ve been getting really cheap gas like $2.38/gal in FW and Frisco Sams which is why I continue to use them. Costco’s price isn’t terrible but for what it is it’s probably worth it in the long run to avoid issues with the fuel system. I hope to run Costco gas full time in the near future.

Winter fuel for many of us makes mpg at least ten percent worse.

That and I’d rather get in a warm truck when it’s -20 or below. Don’t care how much gas I burn at that point
