Nice, I work for a lighting and electrical company. We install light poles on occasion, largest pole installation I've managed was 40 ft. though haha

These are 150', we set the crane up about 25' lower than the base of the pole.

    They looked pretty long. Damn.

Longest power pole I have ever set was 75'.

    Cool stuff.

I'm thinking it's takes a decent crane and operator to position the blades to the power unit at the top of the wind machines. Some of Vestas' towers are 150+Ft. Wonder if someone here has done that? Imagine being a tech up that high and torqueing down the blades to the power unit? Probably not minimum wages.....and not a BS degree that might get u a job at Starbucks.

The more I think about it... The wind machine is there because there is wind. Hopefully the "install" is done when there is no wind. Shit. Probably as dangerous as harvesting King Crab on the Bering Sea and the " Capitan" has a hangover.

I take real & personal property from people and companies that think tax evasion is acceptable.

It's hard for honest people to compete for jobs when the folks who don't pay their fair share underbid them. Also it pisses me off to see tax cheats living with toys and homes that are beyond the reach of honest people simply because they use the tax money to finance the lifestyle.

    Rant over.

I'm a production worker at vestas. @matluth ya those towers are massive. The blades that are produced in Windsor are 54 meters long.

Lol ya looks about right! Thought that doesn't look like a vestas blade to me.

This is what we use around the factory to move the blades 23faf4748f6a827955449fa1a0da6835_46892eaa20f023228a4eb2d321eb5fd95eb049eb.jpg

Schedule a meet and greet day for Tundras.com and get us a crane we're allowed to play on. I bet your turnout would be great :)

What I do for a living-
I wake up open my eyes, and give thanks to the Lord above that I am still getting paid every day and never ever have to work again. I work for no one, I do what ever I want when ever I want.
I love packing a lunch and taking the scoot up into the Blue Ridge mountains and spending the day trout fishing. Also a blueberry farmer - 40 bushes.

Plan and strive to retire well, I promise you there is absolutely nothing at all like complete financial freedom.

It's posts like these that remind me why I started my retirement accounts at age 20. I have about 25 years to go but I'm planning to enjoy my retirement the same way you are.

I know right? But for some reason my Prius driving supervisors don't want to do it! I told them that Toyota needs to make at least one cool hybrid!

That and I can't seem to find the shocks for the "heavy tug truck" on toytec's web site... Can anyone help me with that?

Within a year I will reach the point where my after tax income in retirement will equal what my salary is now. At that point I'm going in and talk to my VP and ask him what he wants to do and what I'm worth to keep around. Not gonna care either way!

We just unloaded this off the truck. Serious AC/DC 100 KV setup. That's a 100 KV HiPotronics transformer in the foreground. We can already go up to 100 KV but this setup will give us superior accuracy and uncertainties over most labs here in NA.

    WP_20170310_12_16_34_Pro-1.jpg

I'll post pics once it's all setup. Hopefully I won't get fried. Hell, it may be better than chemo.
