If the dumpster fire of an airline I fly for doesn't pull out of it's dive very soon, I'm going to try very hard for some luv. Have a few friends over there that love it and are wooing me constantly.

I’m currently an electrical and instrumentation apprentice at a power plant here in Az. Been with the company for 8 years I’m 32. Before my apprenticeship I was a Control Room Operator. I have about 1.5 years left tell I’m a Journeyman.

 

28 years Fire Dept, very rewarding but tired of the commute and LA traffic... pulling the trigger in less than two years to start seeing the USA.

 

Oh wow, no power steering! Those old p8’s were a workout for sure! Luckily now I’ve got a newer 1000. Like an idiot I passed up feeders last year, maybe next year. I’m at the new Willowbrook hub in Houston.

 

I started with no power steering either.
Now I’ve got a nice new 12 cube.

 

Those trucks are long and skinny looking.
My 1000 had 87,000 when I bid that route now it’s at 140k with the abs light on of course

 

Got it with 34k. Just hit 119000 yesterday!

The route itself is not a lot of driving, it is an industrial route and far from the building. Also I’ve had the truck for almost a decade.

It's not my business but that's a good opportunity. My step dad just retired from UPS after 40+ years. He was making close to $100k by the time he retired. He pulled the doubles and was on a mileage run instead of hourly.

 

Got promoted to Regional Customer Service manager. Fun times.

 

You’re right the opportunity is certainly there, it’s definitely in the plan. I’d say I enjoy my customers just as much as what I do. Sounds like your step dad is sitting pretty right about now.

 

^^ I agree. I am on the feeder list and half way through my career. I’m a shop steward and also enjoy my customers...

I have some good ones.. Porsche, Cadillac, Telsa, GMC, Chevy, Acura, Mavvis, a Costco, TONS of food places, an REI, the bank that I use, Wegmans, Target, coming in 2020 a TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!!!

And also a craft beer store that lets me pick what I want when I go there and tosses it in the cooler for me and I pick it up after I leave work on friday!)

Needless to say I’ve got a lot to give up if I go to another position.

 

I am in training to become the Dept Supervisor for Production for the Boilermakers in a ship yard. I have graduated from a foreman to this new position. We have 220 employees and that is supposed to go up around 400 in next few years. We are responsible for all structural and hull penetrations. We also assist all other crafts there time of need.

 

I sell valves for municipal water and wastewater systems. Some stuff is commodity that you find in Grainger all the way to 126” butterfly’s
