Expert operator with Schlumberger. I maintain and operate our conveyance tool that we use to push logging tools to the bottom of the well. We'll also drag seismic shuttles down when they ask nicely lol.

I am a self-taught R&D Mechanical Engineer (no degree). I take things like this:

    IMG_1764.jpg

And turn them into operational prototypes like this:

    IMG_1771.jpg

And eventually turn them into finished products like this:

    DSCN2981.jpg

Our R&D department designs gas phase and liquid phase Mass Spectrometers. Coupled to our Gas Chromatographs, they are the market leaders in a variety of scientific fields including forensic toxicology and advanced bio research including DNA.

If you watch CSI, the instruments in the lab scenes are usually ours. We also bust Olympic athletes for PEDs. My field is the non-analytical infrastructure engineering on our complete line of instruments.

Best job I've ever had, I'm at the absolute top of my game. I work out of my home 3 out of 5 days. Company loves me, I love the company and the job. At 68, no plans to retire I'm having the time of my life.

    Dan

Still a software engineer but I started a new job 5 months ago that is 100% remote/work-from-home and pays an even higher six-figure salary than my last job. The best part of it is most of my team is based out of China so since they're ~16 hours ahead in time, my Fridays are pretty much quiet and I always get to start my weekends early.

This semi just pulled up. Has our new Zeiss Industrial Metrology Coordinate Measuring Machine. Should be fun getting that in. The largest CMM in the company. State of the art. More pics after install. By the way we are looking for a CMM programmer. Anyone want to move to Colorado???

Besides grad student, I work in financial services (I place stock trades for customers). However, I am working towards my CFP so I can get into financial planning and guidance. I can't say what company I work for because I would have to clear it with compliance

Software engineer. Mainly design and develop software used by government entities to interface with citizens and other government entities. Also end out writing integrations to get third-party software applications talking to each other and sharing data with our software.

Serious? I was told that we need an experienced CMM programmer/operator. The lab super is out for a couple hours. I'll confirm status when he gets back. I'll PM you with info then Harris.

I was a Unix programmer when I graduated 15 years ago, not anymore. Moved on to other things after 5 years of programming. Guess, I am looking for excuses to move to CO and start 420 business, lol.

Lineman are the Seabees of the civilian electrical world. All hours, All weather, All the time. After a wreck, they showed up, patched things together, and moved on before most staff had all their reports done. Respectable profession.
