Very cool job. By the way imagine the size of a bison rack of ribs. Covers width of my grille.

endemic hawaiian wood species are so rare that they are extremely expensive. local woods are generally used for smaller things like bowls or ukuleles. The wood we use most is the same you’d find in mainland kitchens.

Work for a local farmer around Lafayette Indiana. They farm 6,000 acres. About half soybeans, half corn. Been there for about 10 years.

I was curious about that. Philippines has the same issue over logged. Nara wood isn't too easy to come by. Lots of illegal logging still going on. Your cabinets look super nice.

We had a lot of rain this past summer. But luckily we farm in 3 different counties. Yields were better then they expected. Nothing record breaking though lol

Dicamba is becoming a big deal around here. We sprayed about 300 acres of beans last year due to marestail issues. Glysophate is almost a thing of the past! We started getting all dicamba beans. A lot of fertilizer companies aren’t very keen on using it.

Can’t say I blame them, I wouldn’t want the liability of drift either. I didn’t scout any dicamba resistant beans last year, but I did have some issues with the local co-op on non-dicamba resistant soy and dry beans. Those fuckers did some top dress on wheat with planes and didn’t clean the tanks well enough. Luckily it wasn’t bad enough to kill significant portions of fields.

I fully agree with ya on glyphosate, as far as I’m concerned it’s only usefulness is on volunteer wheat anymore. We actually had some issues with kochia last year, we hit it with the standard rate of Status (dicamba and fluoroxypyr) on our second post app and that didn’t fully kill it. But even with that said, I’m a lot more scared of Palmer Amaranth now

Depending on when he worked there, I’d bet either my dad or I know him. I interned with CPS in Greeley for two years from 2012-2013, and my dad worked there from 2010-2015.

So I went from doing this full time to a level 1 supervisor.
Then became a foreman level 2 which means I run the BM crew on the ships.
Well last Friday I got promoted to head of the department.
Now I will be in charge of the fitter/welders on the all the ships. The shop where we prefab as much as we can before it gets installed. The sheet metal department. The layout loft. Also manage the pipe fitter department. Along with these we will support the carpenters, machinists and electrical departments when they are short handed.
Supposed to get a year of training before said and done. I have been in this field for over 20 years can’t believe how much it has paid off.
