Dad had a similar car for YEARS thru college and his first few years in Akron out of college(about 1970 thru the late 70's). 1963 Impala SS, white, red interior/bucket seats/console, 2 door hardtop. Not sure what engine/trans it came with, it had a bunch of miles on it when he got it but a very clean body/interior, he talked about it being a powerglide but swapped out with a 4 speed manual. Of course back in the early 70's, this was just another generic used car. He talked about how it was stolen twice when he lived on campus, once it ran out of gas 2 miles down the road, the other time it was gone for a year, found somewhere in East TN.

First vehicle was a 1983 2wd Toyota Pickup....mojave edition. Definitely a fun little beast that felt faster than it was.

1970 Camaro. An ugly green with green vinyl top, 6 cylinder, 3 speed manual, with 70 series bias ply tires but it had a straight body and black interior. I installed a 427ci 425hp big block with a four speed and a narrowed Ford 9" rear end. Removed the vinyl top and painted it white. Wish I had it back.

'75 280z...was '89 when I started driving it.. Fuel injected straight six. That thing was a tank. At the end I drove it 30k miles without changing the oil without missing a beat... Man I wish I would have had the foresight to take better care of that thing. I drove it like I stole it...Transmission went out and I parked it, would up selling to guy who was restoring one and he wound up using that car instead. .. Miss that car. Next car was a 1980 Toyota Corrola station wagon.. Another tank. Wrecked that one... Funny story; my dad was under it with me changing the oil and he noticed that the oil pan was scraped all to hell and the pan bolt nearly sheered off.. I said"i dunno"... played dumb... I knew. See we had some railroad tracks by the high school that really resembled a big ass ramp.... Man, you hit those things at 50 to 60mph.. You went 50 to 60..feet..in the air.. Not vertically of course, but Lordy, airborne..Next was another tank '85 Lincoln Town car Was a land ship. That one survived to be given to friend with a mess of kids... He broke it. Other cars, then I came to my Tundra from an F-150 which I bought new and drove for 13 years. Only like 160k miles though . .spent nearly a year of that time broken down in way or another...so twelve years.. Won't buy another Ford...

70 GTO...Ram Air III. I put on Hooker Headers, swapped the 10 bolt Pontiac for a 12 bolt posi out of a wrecked 66 Chevelle SS (3.70 posi), and also swapped the 3 speed on the floor w/Muncie 4 speed (out of the same donor Chevelle which also had a 4 bolt main 396 with rectangular port heads and that's another story)...best 1/4 et was 13.88 @ 102 mph. I bought it in 1976 for $1000. Good Times!

You lucky SOB. I had the old family sedan, 1991 Buick Regal, 3.8 V6, sounded good, wasn't fast, acres of burgundy velour and fake wood on the interior, it was rather plush, bench seat encouraged all kinds of snuggle and sexy time though.

My first was a 1966 Mustang I bought 23 years ago for $600 when I was 14 years old. Spent the next two years (and all of my money) restoring it with my dad to have it ready for my 16th birthday. Photos are from right around my 16th birthday. Still have it - staying dry in the barn. It was my daily driver until age 22.Mustang.jpg Mustang Interior.jpg

79 Mustang. It was a turd with the 4 cylinder and auto. Paid $200 for it and drove it to my summer job. Got sideswiped by a van, ending up getting $1000 from the insurance company. Took that money and bought an 81 VW Rabbit p/u.

1969 Cutlass, I loved it, it got totaled. I’ve owned about 25 69 Oldsmobile’s over the years.

Found a couple pics circa 1978

1977 F-150 XLT 2wd with the 400ci motor with dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers. Thing was a tank. Once pulled 3 loaded peanut wagons to the mill (about 30k total weight). Truck handled it just fine. Drove it til I totaled it in 1982.

73 Cutlass Supreme.jpg I bought a 1973 Olds Cutlass Supreme from my grandma in 1984. It had only 60,000 miles on it and I beat the hell out of that car until I eventually crashed it.. Sold the 350 Rocket engine to someone out of the wreckage.. Good memories, wish I still had it.

1965 Dodge D200 Camper Special. Similar to the photo below, color, rust and stylings. It was in my grandfathers field, he helped me get it running. All it needed was some hydraulic clutch work, and brakes. It was a tank, my brother hated it because the brakes bit hard after replacing the brakes, he ate the metal dash many times. No seatbelts of course.

1990 Toyota pickup. Was a great truck, over 200k miles didn’t go back to the dealer one time. Only basic maintenance and it was still running great when I sold it. Have ALOT of memories in that truck, many which can’t be talked about. :)

Started driving in 03. First car was a 99 Grand Am. 2.4l 4cyl. I swore it was faster than it actually was. I beat the snot out of it. I learned quick how to work on cars (basic stuff) and eventually sold it in 08 for my first truck (99 Dakota 3.9l 4x4)

Mostly stock. Had 18” rims on 225/45/18’s and intrax lowering springs. I bought the set for $40 at summit racing on their clearance rack. 3 months later, a rear spring cracked and a buddy and I threw on the springs. Lowered it around 2”. Yeah I was super cool lol

don’t judge from the pictures. It was only a handful of years after The Fast and Furious series started :burnrubber:

My dad always had 10-15 different cars and trucks nothing newer then mid 80s he loved the classics. Buy them in what ever condition go through them and get them back on the road. My first was supposed to be a 55 Chevy pickup but he decided he wanted to do a frame off restoration, so in the meantime he gave me an 84 Crown Vic police intercepter man I loved that car. It was a captains car so it wasn’t a generic cop car, it was blue with grey leather and wood grain and that s.o.b. used to get it. Unfortunately the 55 never got finished but good times working on those cars with pops.
