my first car was a VW412 station wagon with rusted floor pan :) but my third was a gold on gold 69 GTO that I got for $250 in 1983 :) 2 months later state farm cancelled my insurance and would not insure me for another 10 years...:D i looked into getting another one recently but they cost a LOT more than $250 now....:(closer to 40K if i want one in good shape.

It’s the type of car you get for free. It refuses to die. When you look up the blue book value, you have to turn to a page that just has pictures of kittens.

1st car was a 1991 Buick Regal Sedan. Burgandy on Burgandy velour with lots of fake wood trim inside, column shift, bench seat. GM was still stuck in the mailase era with this car on the way it was optioned IMO, but it ran good with the 3.8 V6, lots of torque.

2nd car was a 1988 Toyota pickup, 22R, 5 speed, reg cab, short bed. A "Delux" truck, had carpet, cloth bench seat, some sound proofing, super cold A/C, heat would run you out in the winter, lots of chrome trim/bumpers, light blue metallic paint with that oh-so-80's vinyl side stripe. Sharp looking truck, it had low miles, good solid transportation through my first couple years of college. Dad though I was doing a great job in college with my grades, so that truck was given to my little sister to drive when she was 16, and I finally got what I really wanted, a 1999 Camaro Z28, LS1 V8, a real hot-rod. That car was scary quick, looked the business, pretty damn reliable for the next few years I had it.

1971 Saab 9-5, paid $500. Mechanically sound (V-4 engine), structurally dubious, aesthetically...you be the judge. I think I still own it - in a garage somewhere in southern Ohio, if anyone is interested. :-D

Second car: 1982 (?) Mini (the original style) with, I think, a 0.98L engine. Paid 1000 Dutch guilders (about $450).

    Third car: 1975 MGB

    Fourth car: 1971 VW Superbeetle

Fifth car: 2001 Saturn wagon, gift from my folks. First normal reliable car I owned.
