its not hard at all. I always recommend having BullyDog on the phone with you just to make sure there aren't any hang ups. Their customer support is awesome too!!!

its my job to recommend tune settings to the end user. and bullydog's job to provide customer service with a technician whom only helps install tuners all day everyday.

If it is noticeable to their computer, all you would have to do it revert to stock, and drive it for 50 miles before the "not ready" status is gone.

I am looking into a tuner, possibly going with BD BDX but I can't find any data on their mpg gains. I'm thinking about dap tuning as well. Can anyone vouch for the mpg gains?

I cannot tell you how to break the law. And I would only be able to send this unit out of state. CA requires a bribe...uh testing money and application fees to approve this sort of thing for our use.

That's not terrible news though I promise. You could have me send it to a friend out of state. That way anytime you go out to visit them you can enjoy the tuner out there in a free country, not California. I would never recommend that you have your friend send it back to California even though your truck would pass smog and California has no way to enforce their stupidity in this case. See, I didn't recommend doing this;)

Just remove the tune before smog and any dealer service. It’s easy to do.

@dirtydeeds what settings do you recommend for 87octane ?

I'm interested Keith. I just installed a Hypertech yesterday and my "dash lit up like a Xmas tree". Still runs fine though. I did install a JET MAFS to counter the problem, because I read somewhere on here that this issue was an occurrence. I do feel a difference especially since I'm running K/N 77 series CAI and Banks Monster Exhaust. The bog is gone and she's def more responsive, but again, the lights are bothersome. I haven't cleared the lights yet due to family time and snow, but plan to play with it. Anyhow, I had wanted to originally get a BullyDog, but wanted a more seamless process. I have a 2007 CM 4x4 with the mods I said earlier. What do you suggest?

You’ll need a code scanner to tell me what codes you’re getting. That will help me diagnose why you’re getting the Chrismas tree effect. Haha.

My guess is po101 or po103. But I’m only guessing until I see what actual code you’re getting.

I got the lights again, but after a day of driving with the lights, I started it up today and nada. Not sure why, but hopefully it'll last. Otherwise, im gonna get that BD. Did I hear you correct, when we spoke the other day, about if I put a BD on my 2007 Tundra that I would get a CEL with a CAI? If so, any way around that? DOn't wanna change out the CAI.

It’s not for sure that you will get a heck engine light. But it’s very possible. Cold air intake and Bullydog or Hypertech don’t work usually.
