Hey all i am never ashamed to ask for suggestions, I am at the point where I want to buy a 3/4 ton 2500 suburban/yukon. It doesnt need to me model specific but generally what do you all look for when buying a used vehicle?

i know i want something 2003-2006 i prefer the 6.0 rather than the 8.1 vortec. My ears and eyes are open. I know the odometer will most likely read 100k plus and i feel I shouldnt buy something over 150k.

    i am going
This route because my tundra is bad ass and im not selling it to buy a new 3/4ton truck that will be used not too often to tow. I rather keep tundra
And buy a good used 3/4 ton suv for the part time
Towing duties. Best of both in my world.

Rust , clean car fax , maintenance records . Pretty much the same you’d do for a used Tundra .

Those are solid trucks! Don't count out the 8.1 motor, those pull hard. I belive the 6.0 will have more payload though, being lighter.
Make sure you get the better gearing for towing, 4.10 I think?

Have an independent mechanic you trust inspect any vehicle you're considering buying.

    Thanks guys! Im weary of
The 8.1 bc i had a 8.1 that i bought used with 110k in a yukon. I was plagued with a rough idle
    And ticking!

i even had the valves replaced, couldnt figure it out. I ended up selling it and now regret not keeping it.

Absolutely. Most offer a comprehensive prepurchase inspection for $35-50.

Also of the smog is current and has no check engine lights on, what is the likely hood of immediate issues down the road?
