Mark my words. Someone down the road is going to plant a 5.0 L Coyote V8 in that Maverick

I have to disagree with you. With such a low starting price and the ability to actually reach in the bed without being 6 ft 6 I think there would be lots of hectors buying a base model for their business.

Yeah, it looks a little off.

It wouldn't work for me personally (in fact, I'm now thinking I need something with more capability than my Tundra has) but I'm sure it's more truck than a lot of folks need.

Definitely not for me, but I would love to see a small truck market again.

    Too many, but not enough....
With all the electric and hybrid stuff coming out to satisfy the CAFE average fuel economy bs, Toyota and Ford need to bring back the true compact trucks with the small wheelbases like the tacomas of the early 2000's. They wont be able to make enough to keep up with demand.

I used the carpet with the foam back so it was water resistant because I also had one Flintstones ride in high school. Drove that truck for over ten years and 200k miles with missing floor.

These are going to sell very well. I'm really excited that Ford did this. Not something for me, but for 90% of truck buyers this does everything they need while getting the fuel efficiency that they want. Design i'm not totally sold on but it doesn't look bad.

I'll tip my hat to Ford. :hattip:not for the truck, the style and Fordishness does nothing for me, but for the effort.

I’ve been saying it for 15 years at least, Toyota needs to bring back a small affordable truck to the market. At every Napa you see a fleet of 20 year old S10, Ford Rangers, and whatever else they can keep running. Same goes for a Car Quest and a lot of other delivery services. Same goes for landscapers everywhere, keeping their old trucks running because they can't get a newer one, like they took a lesson from Cuba. Not everybody wants a midsized or bigger truck, and not everybody wants to spend $30k+. Seems like Ford took notice and said "hold my beer".

Still not allowed in truck gang.

Edit- they even copied the Lunar Rock color but they call it "Cactus Gray"

I realize now why it looks a little off. The front end especially on the base model resembles a Dodge charger

Looks like the old Subaru Brat of yesteryear in my opinion.
