I picked up my Truck on Thursday. On the way home, I heard an engine race and what sounded like twin turbos spooling up. A Shelby (Ford) truck passed me slowed down and wanted to race.

Friday, I went out with a friend to get some coffee. On the Long Island expressway, a new Challenger passed me, slowed down and pulled parallel to me (one lane over) and wanted to run. He kept gunning the engine.

What is this all about? Are they just looking for someone to beat? These aren’t big lock racing trucks.

I always accept the challenge, and haven't lost yet. This includes a Raptor and Shelby Mustang. YOLO!

I have no idea what this is all about. :notsure: :spy: , probably because I’ve never driven my Tundra on a track or closed course. :burnrubber:

I can believe the GTI story though.

I had a Tacoma want to race. I blew his doors off. I don't think he realized I was driving a 1st Gen Tundra, not a Taco. My truck has a V8. :D

I used to love it when I had the TBSS. She had some mods that hurt a lot of feelings. The Tundra is way too slow to even acknowledge their existence.

I see your truck modified. Mine (only 3 days old) is bone stock. I like to hear from the guys with stock engines.

Just got home from Las Vegas, where lots of folks wanted to scream past and then cut me off on the freeway on-ramps (must be the thing to do there). After the first time, no one else cut in front of me if I saw them coming in the mirrors. No, the stock Tundra is not a drag racer, but it can hold its own against lots of other vehicles.

I don’t run anyone,, I just laugh!!:) I did drive past a Bucees (a huge gas station that sells crap and gas) yesterday and there were a lot of newer 700HP + cars having a little gathering so when I was close enough I put it in neutral and mashed the gas a little as I coasted by!! Everyone had a good laugh!!!:)

Haven't had anyone pick me in the Tundra but a long time ago when I was driving a '78 Chevy Bonanza that had a 350 and straight "druals and glass packs". I had a CRX start messin' with me on the way home from work one night. We pulled up to a red light (this was out in the country side, no traffic but 4 lane) I looked over at them and said "You better roll them windows up 'cause I'm about to smoke you're ass."
    I did...:burnrubber:
