My dog travels back there, my kids hang out back there, plan on throwing some bean bag chairs back there this summer at the beach when the kids want to get out of the sun and or wind...(have the bedrug).. so my surfboards don't bake .. the z series was so hot in there with windows completely vented... kids and dog basically and if I sleep on the beach in my truck at night to be in the water at first light.. the pop outs get very little air vented out
And it doesn't look like an SUV the framed windows break up the lines a bit.. to each their own though

These pictures have been posted before, sorry...
The vented “windoors” allow air for pups and when fully open I can access everything in the bed because it is elevated on my Decked Drawers.
I’m not interested in climbing in there because of knee replacement and fused back.

I’m biased. Have the XV and love it, for what it’s worth.

Also: Check the snugtop website for “monthly specials” before you order through the local retailer. They had a coupon for a free upgrade to a folding front slider when I ordered mine. Saved me $120+ by mentioning it to the snugtop dealer.

XTR and now XTR Gen 2 look cool, but are those bars better than the Thule / Yakima rack options? Also doesn't help that the Snugtop website sucks and it's not clear if you can get that model with the Sportsman package that makes the roof much more durable / higher load capacity.

I agree that the Super Sport looks as if the back end is taller, but I think it's an optical illusion with the rear window shape.

I only had it a couple months and never hauled anything on top. I decided I would rather have the utility of a canopy for the dog, more storage, and potentially sleeping back there. I didn't love a few other things about it, but it is best in class for durability and security.

I did check this one out, but I can't find a single photo of it on a Tundra. There are a million photos on the Tacomas and I think it looks great on that truck. There are a few on F150's, but none on Tundras. It is one of those things that will be a love it or hate it.

For those of you with the Xtra Vision or a windoor setup how secure is the side window? I know it would be easy to smash and grab, but can someone put a lot of pressure on the slider and simply defeat the latch mechanism?

Yeah I tried as well and had no luck. I think it looks great. Very pricey though. I got quoted 3,100 for it for a Raptor. The quote said full size truck so I imagine it is the same price for all full size trucks. When I had my tundra I had the A.R.E Z series and paid 2200.

I have the mesh pet screens on mine, so no, slide-open-reach-in-and-grab-stuff isn’t an option. There’s almost always a 100-pound shepherd theft deterrent system in the back, though.

Also, I locked myself out of the XV on my tacoma because it was so secure (or I wasn’t smart enough to break in).

That canopy is really cool. Looks like it needs a pretty hefty roof rack to support it.

Get a super sport. I have it. For my 2013 tundra I had the other model. It does leak at times unless you replace the seal. The super sport the way it’s setup it doesn’t leak. Plus I love how you can flip the back window upward instead of downward which I believe one of the options for it.

Can you drive with the Snugtop front window flipped upward and the truck back window rolled down? If so, then does it whistle or make any crazy noises while driving? I have read several reviews online of the Xtra Vision leaking and that is honestly my biggest reservation with that model.

I finally got my snug top back on. Drove it with both windows open. No whistle or extra noise. Sounds exactly like the same when the back window is down. Nice breeze in the cabin.

Which model Snugtop? Do you have Toyota tie down rails on either side? If so does the ledge cover up the rails partially? I'm asking because I'm having that problem with mine so I can't use the cleats anymore.

Super sport one. I do have the tie down on both sides. It does partially cover it up. You can use the cleats between the screws that hold them down.
