I know. If a cooler is built well, who needs a warranty anyways. But ten days? BS. RTIC for half the price??? I'd sell all my stock, cash in 401K and and become a major partner with RTIC. Apparently no more need for the top well known proven brands anymore. Yawn....No junk science...

It's like saying my $75 20" knock off Chinese light bar is as good as Baja Designs because there is no middle man. And my 3 watt Chinese Cree's are as good as Baja's 15 amp Crees because someone said so. :cookiemonster:

Rtic has reverse engineered the yeti or the yeti is just over priced.. no different than pelican and seahorse... for example.

I'm not buying ten days chilling ever. There are some brands in Four Wheelers test that were more expensive than Yeti, some were cheaper. None were Chinese made. Yeti was a very early well built extreme cooler. Of course over time there will be competition based upon Yeti's design which has exactly happened. Yeti's powers that be needs to price their coolers accordingly with the new competition. If I were to buy a new cooler today, I'd would certainly consider one of the ones reviewed in FourWheeler for example.

That's the problem with outsourcing you don't know if your getting a good product or a piece of shit when it all comes from China.. I have seen so may things marked up just by the box it's stupid anymore.

Yeti's are still made in USA and now (recently) a second factory in the Philippines too. You can request a USA made Yeti if the Phillippine made one doesn't cut it for you. My kids are half Filipino and I lived there for 3 years. I personally have zero problems buying a product from one of our best allies (not England, certainly not Chinese junk). I did some work at Texas Instruments IC manufacturing facility in Baguio City from 1984 to 1987. The quality control and work ehtic there was exactly the same as TI's facilities here. Maybe better. It was a very good job to have there at the time for the locals. (more Filipinos graduate from high school and college percentage wise than USA kids)

"YETI Coolers LLC manufactures and sells portable coolers that are used for fishing/marine, hunting, camping, and tailgating activities. It offers tundra, roadie, hopper, tank, and collegiate coolers. The company also provides drinkware; cooler accessories and replacement parts; and apparel and gear, which include hats, shirts, and more. It offers its products through dealers in the United States and internationally, as well as through its online shop. YETI Coolers LLC was founded in 2005 and is based in Austin, Texas. It has manufacturing facilities in Iowa, Wisconsin, the Philippines, and China."

I'd be curious as to what coolers Yeti is manufacturing in China. For export? Bottom line is you can still get a USA made Yeti if you want.

Things do change. At least you can still get a Yeti "designed" cooler made here if you want made by Americans, unlike some Apple products. Anyways, Yeti must have done something right at some point since every body and their brother has copied their technology. I'm still waiting for a Star Trek food synthesizer. I would most likely go with a Pelican cooler next time around. Good stuff.

And I would still keep the Tundra and buy a car to commute.

Like you said before, in a old thread, I agree you must pre chill a cooler.. if you don't, they all are junk no matter who makes them or what technology is used...

I have a simple 45 qt Coleman that I use more than any thing else. It depends on what I'm doing.
