Years ago I had a 71 Duster and a 73 Dart which I both restored. The both had a 1970 340 and were pretty fast for a small block. My username kind of gives it away.

You, sir have good taste! When I still lived in Germany (long time ago) I had a 71 911S, one expensive car to maintain.

My three motorcycles. A 2016 KX450F, 2013 YZ250, and 2013 TU250X. Think I’ve had close to 30 motorcycles at this point, but motocross is my main passion.

I test drive a red 02 WS6 TA just like yours. Awesome car. I’m not sure how you only have 13k miles on that beast.

Thanks Hans, I’ve had the turbo for a while but have been dreaming of an air cooled for a long time. Found this car outside of Phoenix; a steal of a deal (15k) in running condition.

I’m planning on doing all the work myself so hopefully I will save on labor - all the mistakes I’m going to make along the way. Will be starting the project in March and hope to have it done by the end of the year. Will post pics once it’s done. I have a bunch of family in Frankfurt and visit every year.

We just visited Mannheim, Germany in December, I try to go every year visit my mother and the rest of my family. I moved to the US in 1985 and things sure have changed on Germany since then.

I agree. Terrific bike that can do anything. It’s currently torn apart for a rebuild of the top end and transmission, but should be back together by spring.

But the Kawasaki has been getting all the love lately. It’s so smooth and handles like a 250F.

I am instantly faster on 4strokes but due to the sight, sound and feel of a 2t, I cannot go back!
