Traded in the SS on a new M550i. Stupid fast and very nice refined ride. 530hp. Twin turbo V8. And a lease so I get the option before worrying about bmw maintenance etc...etc....20220429_095046.jpg

Best way to own a BMW. The Ultimate Leasing Machine! Its crazy how well the germans do the combo of fast and comfortable, easy to creep up on the speedo without even realizing it. Beautiful color too.

Those things are fun little rides. I rented one on Turo for a weekend down in San Diego with the wife. 124 spyder abarth... snappy little manual gearbox, peppy turbo 1.4l. It was fun as hell to cruise up and down the coast in. Not crazy powerful, but a blast in the twisties.

That's awesome. Love it when a truck stays in the family.

She wanted the 124 with the stick. My wants were the Abarth, Brembos and Recaros. No nannies on this one. MPG is between 34-40. Most tanks average 37.

Yeah the abarth package is a nice upgrade... A little "Italian inspired" exhaust note is added too if I recall correctly. After the trip I was definitely searching for sale ads for one. Highly impractical for my currently life situation, but would make a great little autocross ripper and weekend coastal getaway car.

The exhaust is a bit nicer sounding and the LSD is a must for my steep gravel driveway. The integration of the Mazda 7" infotainment system to the Multiair turbo engine has so many zero days many of us have hacked it to do things like allowing touch screen while driving, a speedo and customizable screens. It really is an enjoyable car.

I have a 07 Cobalt SS, I won't be selling it any time soon. I learned to drive on my dad's 1985 Toyota 4Runner SR5, and drove my mom's Cressida until I got the Cobalt. We're Toyota people in the family, except for my brother and his Nissan Armada.

Love the Volks. How do you like the A90? I like the B58 a lot, extremely capable but ive owned past BMW's that were a nightmare so that sits in the back of my mind. I'm considering it vs a 981 Cayman S or C7 GS. All pretty different but i'm a Toyota guy first so i keep coming back to the A90.

As a young man I loved the mk4 but college and two shitty jobs I could not afford one. Now I could not swallow spending 60-80k on a 20 year old car. So when Toyota announced the return of the Supra I had to jump on it. I had other sports cars like a z4, Lexus rc f, mustang gt but the mkv is the best so far. I was also bummed on the bmw engine but the b58 is a rock star from what I have read. Had it for 3 years now and really drive it hard and so far no issues.

Going to be getting her ready for paint soon. Still undecided on color. Been a little over a year work in progress.

Unfortunately we had to work a 16 hour shift that day. Saw a lot of pictures, couldn’t believe how many trucks made it to SLO.

Yeah it was a hell of a show. I have to say, as much as I dig the party atmosphere of C10 Intervention, I was not disappointed by the cool 75 degrees and soft green grass at the Slo down. Intervention is always 1000 degrees and punishing!

We are leaning towards keeping it like this also, is actually our first option. We were lucky enough for the truck to have ZERO rust holes and a perfectly straight body. Finding someone that knows how to clear over the patina is the hard part, and do a good job.

I dig the patina too… how about using one of the patina preserve products like Patina Sauce to shine it up.
