I really wish the SR put out the same HP as the other models, and had a trailer brake. Since they don't, I went with an SR5 with basically no options and it's an extra $100 a month.

well the protech is decent like the other brands but the its just a difference of material. the protech is like a high quality vinyl while some of the others are a glass type material. its just your preference. i like the matte like effect on the protech, cuts down on the glare/reflections better than the glass one's from what i can tell in the 14in protector thread.

there is a thread here about the shifter area protection and i have a post like others on what i installed.

I really like the shifter protector you bought. It looks better than the shiny black, and offers some protection as well. Good find! I skimmed over that thread, but I must have missed your post on there. Thanks for sharing it

yeah its way better than anything else i have found. others have installed it also. just be careful installing it. they put like 20-30 strips of double sided tape on it to hold it in place so once its installed i dont see it coming off.

I got a 24 Limited and didn't want factory running boards or a panoramic roof. I also told myself if I found a truck with a PVM package I'd be okay with it but didn't really think I cared for it. I ended up buying a truck that came with the panoramic roof which my daughter loves and a PVM package which I really like.

The only thing so far after 2 weeks of owning that I regret is not getting a bed step. Getting in and out of the bed at 40 is not the easiest and a bed step will be added very soon.

I felt the exact same way as you prior to buying and I do feel the same way after. I love the PVM and roof. I did however get the bedstep which I like but its not the easiest to push down with bulky shoes on.

All I have to say is, while it may not be super convenient to push down it would have been easier than spending 30 min finding my step stool last night when I was trying to get in and out of my bed putting in my tonneau cover. :D

I also wanted a limited with the upgraded headlights and JBL & TRD package....Hard to find....Ended up getting a Platinum because the dealer came down 4K off MSRP....Vs. the Limited they had on the lot, they wouldn't budge down more than 1K off MRSP......Plus the Platinum come standard with the PANO roof which I wanted... while I didn't get the TRD package, in reality I would rarely use those features.....AND to me the Platinum with the all black trim is FIRE compared to the Limited chrome galore everywhere..just my opinion.

I forgot to mention I had the upgraded headlights on my Limited and not sure if the automatic brights are part of that but I love that feature!

Automatic High Beams are standard with TSS 3.0, all trims have this I believe.

    Bed cover, bed step,
I have noticed that the interior lights on my 2022 SR5 are awfully weak. Has anyone found alternate LED's that are brighter?

I had a 2016 Eco, but it was a Big Horn. Heated seats, steering wheel, and engine block heater were about the only options worth mentioning. I was having issues with the pressure fuel pump recall that had no fix which drove me to trade it in.

2023 Platinum. I wanted the JBL speakers, heated and cooled seats, and the 14" screen. They had some 1794s that meet those requirements but the black chrome on the platinum and the color Blueprint are why I went with it. I don't prefer leather interior, I like cloth for cold months, but it's nice. The mood lighting is outrageous but is very nice when you need it. My most used button is to turn off the auto-stop.

Not sure if you had an Eco but I am getting better mileage around home than I did in the Ram. 19.5 average on the Tundra and probably only 17 in the Ram. I see all the power lag threads on here and I just don't see it. That Ram was a dog, even worse after the AFE recall. On long road trips, I was a 700 mile per tank club member. Before the AFE I could do 32 mpg in flat states, 30 after the update. Same trip in the Tundra I can get around 28, sometimes 30 on the short trip estimate that pops up. I typically run 93 since I was already used to the inflated price of diesel plus I don't have the additional costs of a diesel. PA is a joke when it comes to fuel prices. I have no regrets after almost 9000 miles and 7 months of ownership.

I think I’ve settled on a platinum hybrid off-road. Got the dealer to give me $3500 off. I really wanted the JBL system and the power package with the 110 outlets and couldn’t find them both on a limited trim. Platinum is a bit more money than I wanted to spend, but oh well.

yeah I had the eco diesel. I averaged 21-22 mpg, but I do a lot of starting and stopping chauffeuring my kids around. I often don’t travel more than 15 minutes on a single drive. I’d get 24-26 mpg on long trips, almost 800+ miles to a tank. The ram interior is lovely, but maintenance costs, diesel prices, and some random other diesel problems were making my wife and I second think the Ram.

Lol, a limited ram is nowhere close to a platinum Tundra

A LARAMIE ram is already better equipped then a PLATINUM tundra, platinum don't even have adj pedals lol

I kept lol when the new 2022 LIMITED tundra features were being discussed, wow driver profile linking to keys, wow the side mirrors tilt down in R.

I mean I had this like 10+ years ago on my old trucks.

I felt the same way. There were little things about the limited I thought were missing. I remember watching a video the Pickuptruck + SUV talk guy made about the things he didn't like about his Tundra (a limited). Almost all of them were things that were addressed on the 1794, Platinum and Capstone.

I bought the 24 Limited with a few options. I didn't think I'd like the panoramic roof and monitor as much as I do. I wish I bought the bed step, however, knowing it's a $399 option and I only paid $270 for the step and installed it myself I'm ok with it not coming on the truck. Other than that I can't think of anything else I feel I'm missing out on.

Something to note about the panoramic roof. I'm 6'3" and do not comfortably sit in the back since the ceiling drops down to accommodate for the sun shade. I can sit back there but if sitting straight up you have to tilt your head or slouch down in the seat. There is enough room to do that but on a long ride it wouldn't be comfortable.

I wish they woulda just added the sensors to the rear doors for auto lock / unlock instead of having to reach for the front doors then reach and open back
