It is at least as beautiful. Our river delta feeding the bay has the most diverse group of life in the whole country - literally the highest number of different species of animals in one place. That said, you would have to deal with extremely high humidity, which people complain about much more than the high temperatures. My old drive to/from work gave me views of gators, herrings, ospreys from a couple of feet above the water line, AND a beautiful view of the Mobile River docks from the 141' high Cochran bridge, all within a 25 minute drive. I miss that drive! Now I just get to see the gators, herrings, ospreys, etc.

Seeing my garage start to take shape. After 10 years of apartment life its so nice having a garage, even though its a single. I have almost all my wifes crap out, almost all my crap in. By Thanksgiving it will be 100% operational, that is my goal.

Hahaha! Yup, my bananas drank that milkshake all up!

I really just do a quick watering every evening or morning (not both) to keep the soil from going too dry, 10 minutes tops. Especially important for newer plants but on my bananas if I'm gone for a weekend I find burnt leaf edges on Monday.

Indigenous plants are the answer. Sorry, my post would be better suited to the "what makes you angry" thread. Nevada and California use exorbitant water amounts to keep it green and pretty where it wouldn't be naturally, meanwhile, Utah is rationing water and telling residents they can only water their yard for survival. They aren't allowed to have lush lawns, but NV and CA have golf course lawns.

Anyway, on to things that make me happy. ROAD TRIP! I get to get out of state this set of days off and I get to go with a couple friends on a minor "off road" trip. :yay:

No worries. I only have to water frequently in July and August, other months the plants are fine. My yard is about 15x30 if that, most of it doesn't need much water. I make up for it with 2 minute showers, waterless shaving, and washing my cars every 8 weeks or so.

When I just rubbed seasoning on a steak and I go to wash my hands and realize the water is off for a repair up the street.

Wrong thread? Nope, if that bothers me I must not have many real problems today.

I work long days all the time. 7 to 5, then back on from 7 to 10 or even to midnight. I work a lot of Sunday nights. It can be miserable, but once in a while when I talk to my boss I remember how much I wanted to work for her when I met her (and worked for somebody else). She is impressive, she is one of the few in her position who can get into the weeds with any department, any process, any system, and not get lost. I remember how she has taken care of me and little things she did when we were at the office to keep me in a good mood. It's important to like who you work for.

Today she surprised me with a promotion. I'm officially a senior analyst now and I wasn't expecting it. It made all those long days seem worth it.
