Once in a while when I turn on my computer I spot a story that grabs my interest.

Today it was an article written about the new GR 86. I have to say thats a very sweet looking car, if not for me being too cheap to buy new cars I would be tempted, it is becoming more refined and I like where it has gone.

As I read through, the author wrote a note that the 6 speed manual doesn't have an automated rev matching feature. So if you drive manual you have to blip your own throttle to down shift. Is that really a thing? We have manual cars that do the blip for you? What's the point of a manual trans acting like an automatic? Half of the fun with a manual is downshifting.

 

I heckle manumatics openly and vugarly..i dont care if it has a clutch pedal. If the nannies intervene, i can tell. nobody likes it when you put this on the stereo.

Limits at the fuel pump. My truck wants more than $80 for a tank by god should be able to pump more than $80 in one shot! I think I ranted this earlier. WTF is it setting the limit?

The site office I'm in is basically fancy atco trailers. The water system is piped in from God knows where, it's not a city line. For whatever reason, we have no water today. This means that the toilet tanks don't refill. Apparently I'm the only one who knows you can fill the tank from something like a water cooler jug and still flush the toilet. I filled and flushed the 2 toilets just so I could take my morning shit. Fuck everyone else. If they can't figure it out, they can deal with the shit filled toilets and going out to the porta shitter at -35 degrees.

 

It's so icy that even the boy racers in their riced out Civics and 3 Series know they need to slow down and drive carefully but the guys in Jeeps and 4Runners will just pull out right in front of you.

Granted, there are some things to learn about guitars before you go working on them. It isn't rocket science. If you can put together idea furniture, or change your brake pads, you can do most regular guitar work. I don't understand the point of a forum if the answer to everything is "don't mess it up yourself, take it to a pro and pay them, never learn to be self sufficient".

 

Even I can lower the strings on my guitar.

My local "Hard Rock" station is a joke. Used to get me so upset until I found Satellite radio.

 

We don't even have one of those. One station plays classic rock. One station plays classic and modern rock. The one that plays "variety that rocks" does "hard rock" on Saturday afternoons but it's mostly glam. The one that plays "80s, 90s, everything" has moved away from rock and been playing entirely too much Michael Jackson and Madonna lately.

I'm too cheap to spring for Sirius. Thumb drives in my truck and YouTube on my Bluetooth speaker at home.
