I'm not allowed to talk about what's making me angry today here so I'll just say I'm angry I don't even have anyone to rant to about it.

This thread is way too popular, worry about what you can influence and **** everything else. You'll live longer.

    Yes - you’ll live longer.

But would you rather live a long and miserable life or a short and happy one where you are allowed to bitch and complain about everyone and everything that makes you angry ?

I’ll take short and happy myself.

I can respect both sides of it.

Ther are times to vent, and then there are times to treat it like a dog would; If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away.

Saw this in an old post for another thread today; referring to a Hellcat's 13 round "clip" as a factor in their decision. Still makes my eye twitch.

We have no time to do it correctly. Typically because someone didn’t do their job as expected. Also no time to fix the issue so it doesn’t happen again.

But we have plenty of time to run in crisis mode…

I like when people get half way through a turn then click the signal. Uh, yeah, I kinda figured out what you were doing before the signal came on. Would've been nice to know 200' or so earlier.

People who don’t understand there is more to the world than getting a cheap “like” on Facebook- as if having 10 people liking something you post somehow makes you a better person.

And fake ass people posting their “support” for the military all over FB because it’s Veterans Day. Being a “supporter” of the military is more than joining a social club for their bar and putting up a flag. How about you get off your ass and spend a day helping out someone who served or their family and not feel the need to “post” about it.

Oh yeah - new one today…people who think I’m their damn personal Uber.

“So you towed my car in last week - now it’s done and I live 20 miles away - how Am I supposed to get there to get my car?”

Not my damn worry now is it ? 20 miles you say - well it’s 11:30 and we close at 5, so if you start walking now you should make it just in time. Call a cab/Uber or take a bus or find a friend with a car.

Even better - dude ask if we will be “reimbursing” his gas to get back home. Sure - because it’s MY fault you wrecked your ride.

Teams messaging with people who are 30 feet away in the office. I just get up and go talk to them if I need more than a quick yes or no only to have them go "you could have messaged me on teams...". Yeah, no. Talking in person is faster, more efficient, we're both fully engaged in the conversation and we can quickly pull stuff up and bounce around the topic.

Text messaging is the same. Back and forth 2, maybe 3 times. After that, just friggen call. I'm not having a full conversation over text message.

Before I get "ok boomer" from some smartass, I'm 32. :D

I can see your point, but it depends on where you work. I conduct almost all communication through email or IMs because I want it in writing. CYA is the name of the game and I've seen too many people get thrown under the bus by people willing to swear "I never said that."

I use Teams, text, calls, emails ..really just depends. If I message on Teams, it may be during a conf call to another peer regarding a bullet point

Haha. My favorite is the IM “Hey, call me when you have a minute”

No. Phuk off. Take your power trip and shove it up your azz. If YOU need to talk to me, YOU call me. I’ll answer if I have time…like everyone else in this world. If you are too busy to call me right now, then you are too busy to talk on the phone.

I'm in construction management. When dealing with contractors or documentation, I definitely go through email. Our organization deletes IMs on teams after a certain amount of time. My complaint is mainly when I need to learn how to do something, need a better run down on what my manager wants etc. People keep saying that I can "call" them on teams and talk that way. The video call isn't being saved. It's no different than in person other than being a bigger pain in the ass.

If I need something in writing, I go to email. To me, IM is for quick questions.

Since we've been working from home, I typically get the "do you have a minute for a call?" I appreciate them asking, at least in part because we're currently transitioning from Skype to Teams so it's not possible to have both accurately show if you're in a meeting or not.

Damn extroverts... always trying to build some sort of connection to other people by talking on the phone or meeting face to face. The internet wasn't invented so I'd still have to deal with people!!

Ha. I've been called a hermit more than once. I regularly lose my phone, let the battery die or just turn it off. I hate dealing with people. Which is why when it's required I choose to do it in the most efficient manner, thus reducing the amount of time I have talk to them. I actually get really annoyed when someone texts me, even a friend. It means that this social interaction is going to be longer than it should be.
