What makes you angry?

2 things

1- potholes big nuff to knock vehicle out of alignment on I-80

2- accidentally hitting gator (dead truck tire) in the middle of interstate after dark running 80mph

 

I agree with your #2, 3, and 4. In general, I just hate cigarettes. They stink, make everything around them stink, and it only takes 1 smoker to ruin the air for everyone around them. That, and lung cancer from smoking killed my Mom. Everyone in my family smoked when I was growing up, so I guess I just got my fill of it 2nd hand.

But the real reason I quoted was to answer your #1, as I am an occasional offender of this (depends largely on my mood). Where I live they have a damn stop light every 10 feet (maybe a slight exaggeration), and as I think I mentioned earlier in this thread, I get sick and tired of being held hostage at every. damn. light. every time I try to go anywhere. So yeah, on bad days I will blast through "orange" lights - I'm not the deep-red light runner. Not that it makes it any better or right, and 99% of the time I don't do it, but some days I've just had enough of that shit, ya know?

And stop signs... if there's no traffic, pedestrians, or cyclists, I'm going to roll it. Not full speed because I am approaching with caution and checking for traffic at/approaching the intersection, but I won't make a complete stop. Probably roll through at 5mph (I've never really checked). What's the point? Nobody is there, so there's no need to do the full stop just for the sake of doing it.

I'm a "flow" driver - I prefer to keep things (traffic) moving whether it's an intersection or 4 lane road, be efficient and get as many cars through in as short a time as possible. People who go unnecessarily slow and obstruct traffic, slow down or stop for no reason, or stay stopped longer than needed annoy me. MOVE, DAMMIT! There are 500,000 other people that need to get through this intersection today!

This is suburbia/city driving. Get me out away from the congestion and BS and I'm almost 180° opposite. I become Pa Kettle out on a backwoods dirt road. lol

Not saying any of this is right, nor trying to change your mind or opinion, just offering my personal psychology for why I (and perhaps others) occasionally do some of the things you hate.

 

The fact that Plasti-Dip doesn't come in chrome so I can get rid of the black.

Morons who still don’t know how a 4- way stop works! Or even worse is when someone thinks you go 2 at a time.

 

You can if you're across from each other and both going straight through... More efficient that way.

What do you do when two cars come to a 4 way stop and the same time? Drivers Ed from 17 years ago I still remember the person to left wherever you are situated at the 4 way stop the car to your left goes first

 

Im in Colorado if memory serves me correct (30 years ago) the permit test stated that the driver to the right had the right of way at a 4 way stop lol.

 

I'm in Washington and I took the test only like 6 years ago and it was the driver to the right up here.

 

You would think it would be a federal law considering that people actually drive in other states as well. Here in Ma., the person on the left gets the right of way.

I thought it was the person to the right.

 

I stand corrected on the actual "law", but I have never been at a 4-Way where the person on the left of me didn't get to proceed forward first.

 

When I see this happening I slow down so the other car/cars get to the intersection before me to try and stop confusion. It's funny when I wave someone to go and they are waving me to go then we both go and stop, and repeat

 

Wow I’m one of those drivers that doesn’t know intersections I guess I always thought I was pro and remembered all this time lmao. My driving will have improved now because of this thread

I would find it strange if the driver on the left (at a traffic signal) had the right of way. Would people then say "yield the left away" not "...right away"?

It's yield to driver to your right where I'm at.

And while we're talking about traffic signals, how bout those individuals who treat a busy four way traffic signal that has lost power (fully off) as a green light and not a four way stop?

No, no sir/ma'am you go ahead! Must be in a hurry to leave your grocery cart in the middle of a parking lot somewhere. Please proceed without braking.

 

You yield to the right, if thats wrong I would be supersized, but it's been more than 17 years for me.

We call it the "law of the lug nuts" on industrial sites. Whoever has the most lug nuts is going to win in a collision so everyone else yields to them.

 

As a motorcyclist folks used to talk about the right of way.

If you insist on demanding your right of way one day you could wake up "Dead Right."
In other words, you had the right of way but the other driver did not recognize such ~ and they took you out.
Just be careful out there . . .

 

Getting behind an idiot on a two lane road doing UNDER the speed limit. If you have more than 6-8 vehicles close behind you, I don't care how fast you're going, YOU'RE GOING TOO SLOW! And worse, when the road opens up, allowing for someone to pass you, DON'T YOU DARE SPEED UP!!!

Not sure if I've posted this before but the POS on my street that keeps throwing their empty detergent containers in my ditch pisses me off. We just happen to have one of the nicest houses on our street (most of them are trailer houses - not to say trailer houses can't be nice, but the ones on our street are old and run down) and we keep getting punished for it. Our mailbox has been beaten to hell, trash gets thrown in our ditch on a weekly basis, poison soaked mattresses thrown on our property, etc.. We're nice people!! Stop ruining my love for where I live
