When it's the wrong temperature to sleep - too hot with the sheet on and too cold with it off.

HA! It's like that for several months out of the year down here, thanks to the humidity! I either have to pay for AC running all night long or suffer. It's really hard to find that affordable balance.

I discovered in the summer of 2019 that the AC in my house literally does nothing. Then, by the spring of 2020, I didn't want someone coming in my house to check it out. Maybe next year I'll have AC.

My wife thinks I'm too cheap to run it and I'm getting tired of trying to explain that I'm too cheap to run it if it's literally going to run non stop all night and have the house still be the same temperature in the morning as it was the evening before.

We put window units in the bedroom and in my office. We like to sleep in a cool room and the window unit (8000 btu for a 10x12 room) keeps it nice and cozy. When we replaced the central heat and air unit, we had them install a 3.5 ton (42,000 btu) unit for our 1,000 square foot house. Heating and cooling are done quickly, and the house is quite comfy even on the hottest Texas summer day. A window unit in the bedroom at night might ease a bit of night time suffering, and a bit of overkill when you finally replace the main unit will pay off in the long run.

I upgraded from a 4.5T to a 5T for our 2500 sq ft house a few years ago when the old unit died. I wanted to go bigger but my HVAC guy (a good friend) said if I did, I would end up with a mold problem because the unit would not be running long enough to remove all the excess moisture from inside the house. I have considered an auxiliary unit for our bedroom but haven't done it yet. Our window placement (on either side of our bed) would make it uncomfortably loud to have a window unit but I have looked at the standalone units that mount over the window. I hope to be out of this house within the next 12-18 months so it is unlikely that I will do anything, but this is definitely on my mind regarding the design of the new house.

The salesman told me the same thing when I had them install the larger unit. We're now on our second oversized unit, the first was about 25 years ago, the second was a couple of years ago, and there's no mold or humidity problem. It might be an issue in a high humidity area, but we don't have sustained 90% humidity days. As for the window unit noise, they're pretty quiet these days and the sound soon becomes unnoticed white noise.

People that don't put back their shopping carts. I think this one action shows someone's true character. It's something super simple, that takes you a couple of minutes at most - but it makes someone else's job much easier, and avoids inconveniencing other shoppers when they are trying to park, or get out of their car. No one is going to say anything to you if you don't put it back, or put it into the cart corral - but everyone knows it's the right thing to do. So by being something that is universally accepted as the morally correct thing to do, but also being something that there is no punishment for not doing - you get to see who someone really is by whether or not they put their cart back.

When its 16 degrees during a wind storm and in the middle of the night, the neighbors pine tree decides to fall onto your property taking out my power lines, cable, and the internet. :eek2: Thank god I have a wood stove, and we didn't freeze. The line guys were great and had me up and running in like 10 hours, cable company, still no show. One thing I did learn from my wife's nephews is how to mate my I Phone to my computer to be able to be online, so there's that. Not a great day, but could have been much worse I think.

Parking, when living with other people or at someone else's house. I cant stand how some people are so inconsiderate when parking or coming to visit other people.. They just pull up an park dead smack in the middle of the driveway blocking everyone else . Then you have to be the jerk to go ask them to move when you need to leave ... My sister Boyfriend did this every time he would come over to see my sister when I was still at home . Had to tell him countless times to move . Still like clockwork every day he'd pull right up in the middle in front of the garage . Wanted to choke his A$$ out a few times.. Glad I don't deal with that anymore..

We have pullouts on both sides of the driveway for guests. Do people use them? Nope. Smack in the middle of the front of the garage just as you said.

He was right, AC guy from high humidity area here. First no point in larger unit on old duct work, duct work is sized to deliver a set amount of CFM, putting more BTU behind it will shorten the life of the compressor. Second in our area of the country we need the unit to run to pull out the humidity. If you have a larger unit with the duct work to back it up than needed for the sqft of your house the unit will cool down to set point fast and cycle off before it has pulled out the moisture. So you would be setting at 70 degrees but 70% humidity and feel uncomfortable, and that wet house can also build mold. It's hard for folks from low humidity area to wrap their head around but we need the ac running to pull out the moisture just as much as to drop the temp.

Dishonesty. Makes me angry every time. And very disappointed when it’s from someone I believed to have integrity.

You must stay angry ALL THE TIME! Integrity and honesty is becoming so rare these days it is difficult to give anyone the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Trying to drive on a main thoroughfare through my city and having to stop at all the traffic lights that only exist to allow people to get out of their neighbourhoods. The reason those couldn't all be timed to turn green simultaneously?

Same in my town. And it's worse after 5pm. No traffic and they still don't just go all green together.

People....just the majority of people I deal with right now

I don't know if this is just my area, but the entitlement I see everyday from every generation pisses me off. I literally can't stand it and right now I am really sick of people. Good thing I have dogs

Got a new one... when your neighbor doesnt mind their own business. Have a nice nextdoor neighbor but he is always nosey and the limited time I get to be in my garage and do something like add a mod to my truck, he always wants to chat. Maybe im just too much a intravert but I have maybe a 30 minute window of alone time most days of the week and I use it to get things done. Yesterday, during my lunch (I work from home), I went on a family walk and on my way back home he starts asking me about what he saw me do to my truck in front of my wife. Im thinking to myself, "dude really!?".

.....alright thanks for letting me vent.

The bimbo who pulled out of a side street in front of me and then acted upset when I blew the horn at her.

And the guy who sped up to try to get ahead of me while I was merging then decided to slam on his brakes after I'd already hit mine.

I used to have a high, medium, and low tone Hella electric horn mounted behind the bumper skin on our ‘Rolla. THAT grabbed attention. Then the Mrs ran into something and crushed them. :(

I think it’s time to upgrade the exhaust on your truck and since you work from home you still need to go grab coffee at 7am right lol.

People who pull out in front of you and do 5 under the speed limit when clearly they saw that you were coming. I usually just let the bald eagles out and fly by when a passing area of the road opens up but damn does that make my blood boil.

I read thru this thread now and then.
Even posted something careless about Happy Meals in it.

But after careful consideration, I have figured out what exactly makes me angry on a DAILY basis.
Sorry if this has already been brought up, I'm sure I've missed posts in this thread.

    2 things:

    1. People that run red lights and stop signs.
I drive for a living, it happens all over.
I walk my dogs daily, it happens daily in my own subdivision.
Why is it so hard to come to a full stop at a red light or stop sign?
It's right on red AFTER STOP in Texas.
Some of them don't even hit the brakes..

I remember when I dated a girl from St Louis.
We drove there from Dallas twice a year to visit her family in the 2005 DC.
I recall her Mom asking her why I stopped at all the stop signs when she sat in the backseat..

    2. People that litter.
I cannot fathom how anyone can throw trash, or cigarette butts, on the ground or out of the window of their still, or moving, vehicle.
As stated I drive for a living and I've been known to exit a secluded on/off ramp to take a leak.
The amount of garbage around, mostly by truck drivers (bottles full of piss and bags of sh!te) is unbelievable.

Grocery store parking lots strewn about with masks, gloves, sh!t filled diapers, fast food bags, you name it.
This is with trash cans at EVERY grocery cart return, and don't get me started on returning grocery carts.
I had an $1800 insurance claim from a wind blown Kroger cart that blew into my Tundra (bounced off the front door and into the rear door), and I park out in the end of the lot where no one parks..
I now park on top of the apex of the lot, everything is down hill from there.

Then there are the smokers and their cigarette butts.
If you want to kill yourself smoking, by all means do it, but I don't need to see the byproduct of your bad habit.
I even find them in my street when I mow and edge my yard.

The general mentality of "someone will pick it up" boggles my mind.
Wherever someone is going, there will be a trash can there.

In general, life is good for me..
But these are the things that really piss me off...

    Good day...1LL
