Was at the local Yota dealer for a part that had to be pulled so I was looking around at a couple new trucks on the showroom floor - one was a 2023 Limited CrewMax in Army Green.
Who the F thought a gray top would look good on all black interior? Looks far from a $65k truck imo. Need to spend $80k on a Capstone for the black headliner?

My ‘17 SR5 has black interior and gray plastic and headliner. Makes no sense on mine either.

I've had two vehicles with black interiors and grey headliners. Never had a concern with it.

Wait til your kids get a little older and start rubbing their dirt and snacks on it… you’ll see the advantage of black.

I like the base model interior because all the plastic is black, even the little trim pieces. Except the upper half. I thought it might look better ALL black and then thought, yeah, but then it might be too dark in here (thinking along the lines of why ceilings are usually white inside homes).
Then I was in the taco rental for a month. About a week into driving it, I noticed the the entire interior was black, top to bottom.
It looked really good and I didn't even notice at first, so that shot down my theory of it possibly making it too dark and hard to see things inside the cab.
    Cool story, huh?

My current pet peeve is people using the word "literally", when none of them has a clue what it means.

Yeah, I don't play that game. I won't say I don't give my kid chances, but if I say "next time this happens, X will happen", then I make damn sure X happens the next time.

My wife has occasionally asked me about it. My answer is simple:

"I want my son to like me and love me, sure, but I'm not his friend...I'm his dad. More importantly, he'll experience consequences in the real world; so he needs to get used to them now when the consequences are likely nowhere NEAR as bad."

I was also reading about how kids need boundaries. If you let them get away with stuff they're not supposed to, they're going to keep pushing until they find the limit so they know where they're at in relation.

There's also a trust aspect. If you say "next time you do this, I'll do this" and you don't, how are they supposed to believe you when you say things like "I'll always be here to support you"?

Agreed 100%. In fact, my son and I have had a discussion about this exact subject. I explained that to him one day, and he stopped and thought and said "....you know what, Dad, you're right, I never thought of it like that."

The older he gets the more often he'll come up and tell me he appreciates how we raise him when he sees other kids cuss out their parents or just let them go off and do whatever and then experience situations no child should have to experience. :(

People always think it's strange when I say this, but it's exactly the same with dogs. Ridiculously simple concepts, yet so many people have an extremely hard time understanding them and an even harder time practicing them, even if they somewhat grasp the concept.
Another problem are people's personal psychological hangups and this weird fear that their child (or dog) will feel "unloved" if you set boundaries or deny them their every whim. But that's a whole nother shit show of a conversation.

I've seen a few commercials for it. Not sure I've seen much "hype".
Either way, Margo Robbie is delicious and I'm okay with her face plastered on the TV every 10 min for the next 10 yrs if they want.
Couldn't care less what movie it has to do with.

    OK, one more.
I drive for a living, and 1 thing that gets me:
People that replace their burned-out rear amber or red turn signal (or even brake) bulbs with clear bulbs.
So when they do use their turn/brake signals (God bless them), it's a white light.

Last I heard a white light to the rear on the road, except for reverse lights, is illegal.
    Not to mention irritating.

    upload_2023-7-23_0-23-10.png

It's really none of my business that they are an idiot, but it really gets under my skin.....
    Carry on...

While we are on the subject of commercials, the GMC hands-free driving commercial where the guy is playing patty-cake while tooling down the road. Get real. They might just as well show him with a pillow taking a nap.

All marketing is geared toward the intellectually challenged and impressionable.
If you are morbidly obese, with tons of health issues because of it and you think a pill is the answer,......or, seeing someone playing patty cake at highway speeds makes you want to buy a truck,........I have some bad news for you......
