People that don't understand no means no.
This morning I let my wife solo her wheelchair around the campground and gave her strict orders to not allow anyone to push her but instead call me if she needed help.
Where does she go? To the site of a very outspoken couple that always know (in their mind) a better way of doing things. As she was leaving the people there, against my wife's wishes decided to pull her back and in doing pulled her over backwards and she fell on her back. So far nothing serious but she is sore, scared and very pissed.

What really pisses me off is this couple knows better than anyone here that I expressly prohibit anyone from moving her without my permission.

We are damned lucky she didn't rebreak her femur in that fall.

WTF?! Who the hell do they think they are messing with somebody who can wheel themselves around? I'd be livid..... then after calming down I would have to go over and have a very firm conversation with said idiots.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Must be super frustrating, but more than anything I hope your wife gets to feeling better quickly!

This behavior just fits this couple. Last winter we went to dinner with them and two other couples. The husband drinks a lot more than I do and kept hounding me at dinner about having a drink. His remarks got more and more demeaing until I finally spoke up and said, " What part of no don't you understand?" Well that got the entire table quiet. That's the only way to get this guy to shut his mouth and open his ears.

Susan will heal in time as long as she follows the Dr and my orders and no one does something stupid. She really did a number on her femur back in Oct and the surgeon is being cautious.

It's called being married. These folks are from the area my wife is from. She doesn't see it as much as I do.

We didn't need to. Within minutes of me getting my wife wheeled back into the camper the owners were here checking on her. I don't know what they said to the other folks but they were right down here apologizing up one side and down the other.

I understand. Glad she was not injured. Maybe the New Year may change the other couples behavior.

My bank seems to really be going downhill.

Called today to see why my new debit card hadn't arrived to replace my expired one yet. Turns out they had the right home address on file but the wrong mailing address. I guess updating my address to the house I have a mortgage on doesn't make enough sense to them. There's also no option to update your mailing address in their app. It also apparently takes 30 days for the system to update after an address change so they couldn't just change it and then mail me the card. Here's the kicker: we regularly get mail from them at our home address asking for us to do more business with them.

Talking to the customer service agent trying to get into my account because you apparently can't do it with the expired debit card number. They ask the absolute worst security questions. "What was the amount of the last deposit to your account?" Well, I'd offer to put you on hold and look it up in the app but I don't have access because my card expired. I know the approximate amount but not to the decimal place. "Ok, what was the amount of your last withdrawal?" Well, that depends on what order the transactions went through. If it was this bill, it was about this much. If it was this bill, it was about this much. And so on...

So I go in to the bank on my lunch break to get a new card. They can't use the old card to look up my account because it's expired. They supposedly can't use my driver's license to look up my account because the expiry date they have on file is in the past. I wasn't aware that I need to go to every place I've ever done business with every 5 years to let them know that my driver's license number hasn't changed and that I have renewed it for another 5 years. Why they need the expiry date or even the number is beyond me. Just ignore the fact that the license itself can be used to confirm my ID. You can't just look up my name or my address?

My credit union recently merged/was bought out and this is the exact kind of shit show it's turning into. I'm actively looking at other banks. As soon as my Tundra loan is confirmed as paid off, I'm going to look into what the bare minimum needed to keep my credit card through them active. It's my oldest line of credit and so it's good for my credit score, but I almost never use it. If I don't need an account with them for it, I'll likely close it out. I've banked with them since I was 16, and my account was opened by my Mom when I was 14.

Banks are complete trash these days. I deal with an online bank and they've been pissing me off alot recently. The Woman and I have our main account set up as a joint account. You think they would be able to figure out sending 2 debit cards? Nope. At least once a year my debit card decides to just stop working, so I have to call in and go the the whole song and dance to get them to send a new one. Then I have to call them 3 weeks later and remind them to send the fucking thing.

I pulled some my investment accounts from them and moved them to another no fee brokerage. Not a peep. Compare that to when I did the same with some investments at a mainstream bank and they blew up my phone for a month begging me to keep the paltry amount I had there with them. I go to move $30K from my online bank to my brick-mortar bank's no-fee savings account so I could get a bank draft in a timely fashion and put a bunch of money down on my new truck. You'd think I had personally insulted online bank's service rep and got a grilling about why I was moving such a large sum away from them and wasn't there something they could do to entice me to keep my money with them? Nevermind that my brick and mortar bank owns the online bank...

I'm tempted to just move everything to the brick and mortar but updating all my payments, payroll etc is a hassle and they wants $16/month in account fees unless I keep $4K in the account. Fuck off.

One of the reasons I'll never go to an online bank. At least I was able to walk into my bank today and get a new card today. These guys also seem to have lower fees than my previous bank.

While I was there, a customer for one of the online banks came in needing something. Apparently their ATMs are in my bank's branches. She was informed that unfortunately no one there could help her and she'd have to either use the ATM or call her bank's 1-800 number.

I left Bank of America when they allowed someone to change my mailing address to the local mall near the base I was stationed at and have a new card sent there. I talked my parents into leaving BoA and going to the credit union by showing the rate difference if they transferred their mortgage. So, they are paying it off faster without the headaches BoA was giving about everything. Not to forget, the local BoA closed down.
I like my local credit union for my basic banking. I buy everything on CC then pay it off each month and only use my debit card if I need to pull cash when the bank is closed.

This is the way. That's why I'm pissed that my CU just merged into some other bank. In a 6 week timeframe they have become utterly unrecognizable. The only person there who is competent is the loan officer, and I will miss working with her, but I'm pretty much over it. They changed their hours, calls go to a call center now, and I was mailed a page of new fees and policies that was a page and a half long. Eff that. If I have to have a bank instead of a CU, then I am at least getting one that the local branch answers the phone.

Definitely sounds like it's time to change to a credit union. Some banks to DEFINITELY stay away from: Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, Bank of America. I'm sure there are many others to avoid but I have direct experience with all three of those with both business and personal accounts.

Luckily we don't have any of those in Canada. But we only have one credit union. My parents use them but the primary benefit is apparently because my dad's over 65.

I have an email, a text message and a notification on my phone telling me that the parking ban to allow our county to plow the streets starts tomorrow. My mother in law - who lives in a different county - somehow got it in her head that it started today so the whole family was going around acting like I'm fucking insane because I left my car on the street today.

There's a few credit unions in Alberta. Servus is the big one, but there's a bunch of smaller ones.

    https://albertacreditunions.com/

None of them can compete with the online banks, nevermind the big banks though. Aside from their lack of offerings, they're also usually only local. I was with a credit union from the time I opened my first account as a little kid until I left my hometown since they had no branches outside of the Lower Mainland and still don't as far as I know. Credit unions are pretty useless in Canada.

I have my issues with my online bank but 2% cashback on groceries, gas and recurring bill payments with my Mastercard and no fees on my accounts keeps me with them for now. My brick and mortar bank is fine as far as my experience with their customer service goes but $16.95/month account fees and 1% cash back or those silly Scene points isn't really enticing. I maintain a no-fee savings account for the odd time I need something like a bank draft and a line of credit for emergencies there.

Yeah, I just found out about this - I've 'known' since soething doesn't feel right, but it's not at all painful - e.g., on a scale of 1 to 10, it's 0.125. LOL

My guess is it'll be anywhere from a bit of rehab to *maybe* some minor cleanup surgery.

Mine has clicking, a bakers cyst, average pain 1-2 out of 10 with pressure behind the knee, and sporadic 7-8 out of 10 with knee collapse and inability to walk or support weight. I also sometimes get knee "lockup" on extension which requires me to either jam my foot under something and pull up on my leg to the point my hip hurts before I get a loud pop from my knee and can move again, or if I feel it happening I can kick really hard and it'll pop and move freely again.
Standard VA stuff. Get a xray at VA and ask for MRI also, get told MRI not needed. Get to civil doc and they take another xray and ask why VA didn't get MRI. Doc looks at xray and says next step is MRI then replace the knee.

Yeah, the ONLY good thing about this is the fact that it's not going to be VA doc. LOL

It's entirely possible it's not a big deal, but IMHO, better to address it while it's not a big deal, before it becomes one.
