Yeah, I just found out about this - I've 'known' since soething doesn't feel right, but it's not at all painful - e.g., on a scale of 1 to 10, it's 0.125. LOL

My guess is it'll be anywhere from a bit of rehab to *maybe* some minor cleanup surgery.

Mine has clicking, a bakers cyst, average pain 1-2 out of 10 with pressure behind the knee, and sporadic 7-8 out of 10 with knee collapse and inability to walk or support weight. I also sometimes get knee "lockup" on extension which requires me to either jam my foot under something and pull up on my leg to the point my hip hurts before I get a loud pop from my knee and can move again, or if I feel it happening I can kick really hard and it'll pop and move freely again.
Standard VA stuff. Get a xray at VA and ask for MRI also, get told MRI not needed. Get to civil doc and they take another xray and ask why VA didn't get MRI. Doc looks at xray and says next step is MRI then replace the knee.

Yeah, the ONLY good thing about this is the fact that it's not going to be VA doc. LOL

It's entirely possible it's not a big deal, but IMHO, better to address it while it's not a big deal, before it becomes one.

I agree. I'm hoping this one gets it done. I am tired of treating symptoms rather than the cause.

On a different note, I'm currently trapped at my trailer. Wind knocked down trees in the road on both sides of where I am, so I have a 2 1/2 mile stretch of road that I was able to clear but have to wait for the logging crew to cut their way in. Not a bad thing, but annoyed to be woken up at 4 am by a call on the CB to go check the road when the crew can't even make it within 2 miles of me. If there are trees down at the bottom, there are more we trees down up here where the wind is stronger, let me sleep.....

Yes, this. (Another thing that makes me angry. LOL) I'm one of those people who have a high pain threshold, so usually, by the time I make it to the doc, the damage is somewhat done. Don't get me wrong - I've never been the biggest fan of running, so if biking, swimming, walking, etc., as well as stabilization exercises and all that allows me to continue living life how I have been, *AND* keeps it from getting worse, then that's great, I'm happy to do that.

But if there's a surgery that can be done to clean up stuff, repair it, etc., I'd rather get to it sooner rather than later. I'm not saying that should be the first resort, even - just that if the alternative is no squats/running/fun/life/joy/etc., and there's a simple surgery, let's get it done.

That is what I tried to explain to the VA docs, but they still seem to think everyone feels pain the same. Though getting a nerve ablation done only 5 minutes after being given a single Valium did cause enough pain to make me threaten violence.
I miss being able to run and ruck, but even if I get new knees, those days are gone.

Yesterday had me pissed off enough, I had a hard time cussing out the people who pissed me off. I honestly couldn't get my mind to express my anger.
Without going into detail, we had a major equipment failure which lead to a couple guys being injured with one serious enough to be flown to a bigger hospital than the local one.
I go down to the highway to meet the ambulance to escort them up 6.5 miles of FSR. On my way down, I call an "all stop" for all 3 roads and the crews that are on them and they confirm my call. On the way back with the ambulance behind me on a 1 lane road, I come nose to nose with 5 forest service tree planter vehicles and one loaded log truck. None of which were using CBs. They came to the realization that they needed to put their trucks in the ditch and not to argue when I pointed at them and pointed to the ditch.

They will have a bad day when they start coming up the road where my crew is working and I won't let them through without every truck having a CB. I know I will get bitched at, but IDGAF. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to realize you need to have a CB if driving on an active logging road.

Month and a half more...... then it's time for a vacation.

And in general, the attitude of "we've always done a shitty, half-assed job before, why should we have to do things properly now that you guys are aware of what a shitty job we've been doing and have put systems in place to make sure we don't"?

This day! Started with a ruptured line in the heat loop and ends with a black tie Galla for all the big wigs that donate big bucks so we have to attend and dress up.

I haven’t wore a tie in years. I won’t ever wear one again as long as I possibly can.(unless it’s some wedding or something that requires it) Don’t like it? Too bad.

Morning started in uniform and covered in heat loop water then hours of clean up. This is the one night a year they ask for dress up. Still waiting for stragglers to leave our convention center but already announced over 700k raised.

My parents rarely make me angry. This week has been one of those times.
I'm house/dog sitting for them while they are on vacation. They have a 12x12 spot that use to be grass. Now, it is is about half grass and half mud. Instead of fixing the issue, they decided to let the dogs keep getting mud all inside the house, on the floor, on the walls, on the carpets, on the furniture. My mother doesn't work, so she just cleans every time the dogs come back inside and brush the mud/dirt off when it dries on the dogs.

FUCK THAT. I'm digging their yard up. Taking the grass out down 6" and putting pea gravel down. I will use a day of fixing the issue rather than 5 hours a day cleaning up the freaking mud. The deck is covered in mud, the pavers are covered in mud. I am going to run a hot water line to the back door and put a mortar mixing tub down to clean the dogs feet whenever they come inside.

Made an asking price offer with 20k earnest money deposit on a house which was probably 16k-20k over value and seller did not counter, or even respond; first offer he has received in over a month. My agent had to contact sellers agent to find out what was going on; apparently a VA loan is not good enough for the seller, wants a conventional loan, plus wanted half of the asking price as earnest money, he refuses to sell me the house...what a prick. You would think if someone lists their house on the market and gets an offer for what their asking that they would be happy, but nope. None of these extra requirements were stated in the listing otherwise I would not have bothered. Hope the house continues to sit empty.

Sounds like there is a reason they don't want to sell? Knew someone who was going through a divorce. She wanted to sell, he didn't. So he would only agree to list at a ridiculous price and refused all offers less than full list. I don't know if he had other ridiculous demands or not. It worked though. He got the house, and a year or so after she was out of the picture he sold at the height of the housing craze and made bank.

Funny how people have become so selective... I get that dealing w/an FHA or VA loan can result in some frustrations, but that is usually due to the fact that something in the home isn't up to snuff, and the seller knows it. So, rather than being told they have to fix some shit or financing won't be approved they decide to stay away from the restrictions altogether.

You never know, but it may be a blessing in disguise and save you a bit of frustration in dealing w/that house.:notsure:

Good luck on finding something that works for you!!!

What a waste of other peoples time though; the house was in the most ideal location, and checked all the boxes, so I do not mind paying over what its worth being that we plan on staying there. Total disappointment.

Wife made the same "blessing in disguise" comment as well, you both may be right. VA loans apparently are considered a poor mans charity loan, there is that misconception that I did not realize until I encountered this situation. Nothing I can do but move on, but it is burning me up inside; not even the courtesy to respond.

Yeah, it's freakin strange... some folks think that if you use VA it must be because you can't afford a "normal down payment" or qualify for a "normal" or conventional loan... etc. etc. etc; blah blah blah... It's a freakin' benefit that you've earned and should use whenever it's in the best interest of your family.

When the wife and I were looking for our retirement home (2018), I'd say that more than 50% of the active listings stated 'conventional only'; no VA, no FHA, etc.... When we bought homes were selling above list price, and we made a couple of offers (at list price) w/a conventional loan on the table that never received a response. We ended up finding a home the wife really liked, and our agent suggested that we make an offer slightly above list price and include a short personalized "letter" w/the offer; explaining that we are a couple entering retirement and were looking looking for our 'full time' forever home (since a lot of these properties turn into rentals). I've never heard anything like this before, but we did it and the transaction ended up working out. Times have definitely changed!!!

I later learned that this whole not responding to an offer is a "seller's tactic" to set the tone that demand is higher than supply. I'm w/you though, to me it's poor business and flat out disrespectful. Have a great evening together and forget about those idiots!!!

Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I'd probably send them a "F you card" for not having the courtesy of responding.

A robber using my house as a hideout....

Robbery 4 homes from mine. Robber picked the trashcan in my carport as their hiding place this morning. Happened 20 minutes after I left for work and my kids were home (no school today, oldest is 18.) Police call and ask if I have any camera footage. Because I have MULTIPLE signs saying I HAVE CAMERAS and LITERALLY have 4 VERY VISABLE cameras in my carport alone where the robber decided to hide...... I mean I know adrenaline and all that so you aren't thinking but just WOWWWW like of all the homes in this small country town.... You pick the one overly paranoid guy's house? That's bad luck.

So yeah I gave them multiple angles from start to finish including where they came from and where they went. Just wish I was home so I could tell that guy/girl/whatever is politely correct that I'm calling the police and getting my gun but not in that order.
