When in the Navy, we had wise cracks for Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
    Even reserves.
    But no army jokes.
We never thought it was necessary to make fun of the less fortunate.

Furnace went out in my trailer last night. Then got to work only to find the crew pushed their start time back without informing me. So, I sat there for an extra half hour when I could have slept in. 0630-1730 work day sucks when you get woken up at 0130 by some jackass in a loud POS Dodge truck.

Dang, man. That's a crap night. When you say the furnace went out do you mean like the pilot light went out, or did it shit the bed completely?

No constant pilot, it's electronic ignition. Fan will turn on, but it won't light. I checked power at the gas valve, but it isn't getting power. So either the sail switch (air flow flips the switch when it is moving enough air to start the gas flow) or the control panel itself has failed. It's a bit if a pita, made worse by the fact that I won't get to go to town until next Wednesday. So, the buddy heater will be doing all the heating for a week unless I can figure out how to jump the furnace.

Well hopefully temps will warm up a little for you and you can keep warm. I know the buddy's have to have ventilation so it's drafty heating with them.

If you've got any Nalgene bottles you can fill them with really hot water and stick them down in a sleeping back. They'll stay warm for a good portion of the night and if you do that a couple hours before you go to bed it'll be a bit more toasty to crawl into. Nothing you don't already know, so just a reminder.

Does it light then shut itself off after a few seconds or is there no flame at all?

I was fortunate to marry a nurse who had worked with adolescents and children in a psychiatric hospital. My kids didn't get away with ANYTHING, and they learned not to beg for stuff before they could speak clearly. If my son started asking "How much longer?" on a long drive, I would make a point of slowing down so it would take longer. I generally had to do that about twice per long trip.

My younger daughter once asked "Are we there yet?". I immediately answered with a simple "Yes". She looked around and said "No we're not!". I then asked her "If you knew that, why did you ask?" and she never asked again.

Oh, bed I warm. Fleece blanket and a down comforter keeps me comfy all night. It's when I wake up and get out of bed that it sucks. It's only a comfort issue. Water heater is self cycling, when it gets cold it will turn itself on and cycle water itself. First time it did it, I forgot I had rewired it to turn on and turn on the water pump. Freaked me out when the water pump turned itself on.
Doesn't light at all. Fan turns on for about 20 seconds then turns off. I'm thinking it's the sail switch, I'll finish cutting the side of the furnace off to make the access panel and then make a jumper wire to bypass the sail switch.
I am going to add an access door on the outside of the trailer so all the switches can be accessed without taking the furnace out.
But, tonight it is supposed to get cold and snow. So, hopefully it's just the sail switch and not the board.

Update: had a triple failure. Sail switch tested bad. No function with bypass. Thermal over limit switch tested bad. No function with bypass. Thermostat tested bad. No function with bypass.
Bypassed all 3 and now I have heat. H*** yeah. I'm happy with that. It gives me time to order stuff but not freeze. Since I never leave it on when I'm not inside (usually just on for shower and when I first wake up to get ready for work), it is just a matter of plugging/unplugging 2 connectors to turn it on/off.

Everyone here was driving like a fucking retard here today. Driving 10 under in the right lane then speeding up as soon as I pulled out to pass them. Saw a guy coming the wrong way out of a one way ramp into a gas station. The hippie in an old CRV behind me was passed out on her steering wheel while waiting for the light to turn green.

Forgot to mention the dozens of people who apparently think that all 3 lanes of traffic need to slow to a crawl because the police have someone pulled over on the right shoulder.
