So does mine. I agree having sensors in the middle of the front bumper would be nice. I installed a front camera that gets used often. Not just for pulling in to a parking spot but to make sure there's nothing in front of my truck before pulling forward. Think bicycle, pet, kid....

I think they standard on 1794 and the platinum. Limited and sr5s get them as options with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic assist im fairly sure

Yeah, some vehicles are worse than others for sure. I really should test drive vehicles before I buy the damn things and add this to my "tryout list".

2000 4.7 4wd. The one HUGE annoyance from when the truck was new was front brakes. After 5-10k miles when applying the brakes the front began to shake like the rotors were warped. Toyota replaced brakes under warranty two or three times. Same thing. I just learned to live with it. At about 200k miles I took it to an outside mechanic for new brakes. He replaced the passenger side caliper and a new set of pads. No shakes for the last 80k miles.

Having read about the issue over the years I've seen things like upgraded larger calipers and all that. In my case, I wonder if it wasn't the caliper that kept the brake pads slightly engaged resulting in heating up and warping the rotor on that side? Who knows...

Definitely look into compustar system. Better range also when you get the long range remote option. Like the 2 way remote. Stock fob is finicky on my '21. New battery in it and still sucks on the range. Just terrible. Plus no more engine shut off when door handle is pull from the outside.

Not really considering i did the install myself.
Idatalink have a great write up on how to install it using t-harness.
You gotta use a pc to program the brain. Other than that, pretty simple.
I'll put a list together so you can have an idea.
    1.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079NGGNYG
    2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081ZFH11W
3.idatastart tl7. If you have PTS. None PTS uses a different t-harness. See idatalink website for specific harness for your truck year..
    https://ebay.us/m/mTBlKK
This if you want mobile start, subscription is $50 a yr for the basic plan. See dronemobile.com for more plan.. i have the cheapest plan..
    Or
Any 2way long range remote kit from cumpustar. I have the 2wg15r-fm 2way remote and you will need the long range antenna. Hence the remote "kit".
    4. Weblink app from idatalink website so you can flash your module.

    $58 - t-harness
    Module dc3 - $140
    Remote and drone - $138
    Total: $336 before tax

Plus couple hours of your time. Flashing the module takes like 30 mins less.
Most of the time is just pulling lower dash and steering cover to access plugs for the t-harness. Then run the cable for the long range antenna.
    That's about it. It's a weekend project.

@BrandonL812 thanks so much for the detailed installation breakdown. I’ll look into it for certain.
