Guessing this question is for @Cody530 . Mine is a bumper pull TT, just same RL double slide floor plan.

New camper gotta put about a 6inch lift on it but should be perfect for our boon-docking build.

Hey that’s nearly what we just picked up! Ours is a 2024, the first one in the dealer got. How do you like it? We just got almost done packing all the gear back in from the old we traded in.

Stayed in one of these for work once upon a time. They’re cool campers, just small inside. Super easy to pull.

All hooked up and about to undock. Today will be our biggest / longest / most grueling pull for the beast. About 140 miles up into the Ozarks for a weekend at TableRock lake for my birthday. Double checked the tires and lugs and gave them both a wash. There’s some decent hill pulls, but thankfully lower elevation. Shouldnt get over 3000 feet. We normally just pull to the lake or other local spots. Pulled my old camper (6800#) up this way once with my FGT and we made it no problem. I’m sure the 5.7 will chew it up :muscleflexing:. And by it, I mean gas.

I towed a 5500# HiLo up through that a couple years back. Not a big deal for the 5.7, I remember helping the transmission decide which gear to stay in and it was all done without complaint. And fuel was enjoyed along the way too, yes.

Sites are a tad small, but they back up to a walking trail the goes by the lake. We walked down and sat by the water for an hour last night. Very nice. Camping with some friends, they have a classic airstream also pulled by a 2.5G Tundra. He reported a pretty easy pull as well.

Lots of lovely set ups, I like the Ember, I hope they do well.

some update and cautionary tales of buying new "off-grid" trailer from what I thought was a reputable manufacturer, in this case, Winnebago, we liked how the trailer felt compare to other brands at the time, this was in 2022, I was wowed by the FLX (solar, 320ah battery, Truma water heater, Truma soft start a/c) package, and liked how it's not a full width and blah blah blah, bought the trailer in August of 2022 and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

I stored it indoor over the winter, even specifically to ensure it was constantly above freezing in the space ,basically stored it above what Winnebago called for, brought it out in April of this year, turned everything back on, and within 20mins the Xantrex inverter went up in smoke.

I called the dealer and they said they will not be able to see the trailer until July, keep in mind that's awfully close to the 1yr warranty mark, then Winnebago said "you have to deal with Xantrex", which blew me away as I paid handsomely for this brand new rig, only to be told to deal with it, thankfully Xantrex is lot better to deal than Winnebago.

New Inverter in, everything seemed to work for a brief bit, decided to head to first trip in May.

Beautiful spot right? I could fish off it, it was quiet, everything I wanted.

BUT WAIT, battery was reading 14.6 volts and throwing codes, EVERYTHING stopped working and strong smell of electrical fire, called Winnebago, no dice, I had to called Lithionics and they told me disconnect everything, so here I am, in the middle of camping trip, disconnecting the complete wiring system, and manually retract everything, brought the trailer to a repair shop that I chose on May 27th, and it sat there since.

    - It blew up slide out controller
    - It blew up all control panels
    - It blew up the JBL stereo
    - It blew up the solar controller
    - It blew up the second Xantrex inverter
    - Lithionics believes the battery cells were damaged

So throughout all this, the repair shop (NOT purchase dealer) went above and beyond try to figure out all the details, Winnebago tried to provide information but a lot of wiring diagrams are simply incorrect, or they differ so much from what's actually on the trailer it causes serious concerns.

The worst part of it all? Winnebago's so called engineers turned out to be interns, repair shop tried to reach back to the same person and was told "oh he's back in school", so now after nearly 5 months of chaos, half of the trailer is new, and Winnebago still has yet to get back to me on what's the next step, to their credit, Rachel was the lady I spoke to the most, not sure if that's by choice or simply no one else is working in customer service except her.

There was an old saying and now I truly understands.
"There are two types of RV, one that is broken, and one that is yet to be broken".

With that said , once this chaos is over , I'm gonna look into something else and just bring my own portable battery.

Wow, so sorry to hear about these problems. I rebuilt our 24' HiLo a few years back and as I was doing that, it seemed like the manufacturer pretty much made up their own rules as they went along. "Just get it out the door" seemed to be the way they put a few things together and it sounds like that isn't just a one-time thing. Add some new electronics and batteries into the mix and you have this mess.

Again, sorry you're dealing with this.

Pretty much, so now I'm debating for next trailer, do I spend the big bucks and get like the best of the best hoping it wasn't built on a Friday, or just buy a cheaper alternative and fix as I go.

Buy a somewhat new used one. Hopefully they'll have already fixed everything, but it'll be new enough that everything isn't worn out yet.

After this one, we are going that route too, I still like it and would like to get more use out of it before heading down the rabbit hole of have one made, Bigfoot, Outdoors RV are on the list, I like Intech too since I've used their car trailer.

I see your list inclds CanAm RV's inventory, General Coach stuff is a head scratcher for me, it's kinda cool but kinda pointless at the same time.

That makes sense, one thing I noticed too was how low it is, we camp mostly provincial parks, and I can see they would get stuck fairly easily.

Please let us know how the Bigfoot is, wife saw a video of it and we are very interested.

Oh god, yes I've seen that video, I feel sorry for that man.

I'm outside of Toronto, Bon Echo is our favorite spot, Wheatley was amazing beside trailer stopped working after arrived, we had plans to head back to Elliot Lake as we've been there before we got the trailer, but our dog is 16 and his tolerance for long drive is significant reduce, we are aiming to camp with him for as long as possible so we are keeping it close.

p.s. if you want a good spot, pm me, it's a crownland outside of Parry sound, a beautiful spot by the lake.

I’ve got a question for all the experts.
I went to check tire pressure on my moms 5th wheel for a trip. I decided to check the batteries while I was there, I could hear one gassing off and it smelled of sulfur pretty bad. I used probably a gallon of distilled water filling 2/3 batteries. I could still hear one gassing after I put the caps back on. Are we ok to use them for a upcoming trip? And second can we upgrade to AGM or would we need a different on board charger?
I’d really like to get away from lead acid batteries. Thanks in advance, during and post

No idea if that battery is still good, that is beyond me. I have heard that almost any trailer built within the last 15 years should be able to seamlessly charge FLA or AGM. Recently some have been updated to also do lithium. Lots of people do still upgrade the converters to get better performance or different charging characteristics.

Upgraded 5yo flooded acid batteries(3) to dual group24 AGMs. And spruced up the rusty tray while I was in there. I think this settled my moms nerves a smidge before the trip.

Picked up my trailer from storage and noticed a tire was a bit low. Said fuck it and towed it the 6 miles home, well it was at 21psi, so I guess I'm yanking the tire off tomorrow and hitting Discount Tire, at least it's a holiday off. :frusty:

@FrenchToasty What year is your mom's rig? You'll have to let me know how the stock system works and charges the AGM batteries. I'm over 3 years with my current plain old "deep cycle" batteries, which we all know only last about that long out here.

We refer to it as "campering".

    Camping is done in tents.
