Another mod on the '17 Jayco.

I moved the water pump, relocated the suction hose for winterizing, and added an accumulator tank to the system. The accumulator tank is awesome. It stores pressure to stop the pump from short cycling.

The suction hose and valve used to be buried under the sink behind panels and ducts. Now it is out of the way, but totally accessable. I also drilled a hole for th Schrader valve on the accumulator tank. Hopefully I don't have to open up the under sink space for a long time.

Edit: pulling at threads... Now the existing plastic pex fittings are leaking. I'm glad for the upgrade, but trailer plumbing sucks haha

First trip under my belt! Up to the White Mountains in NH. Truck was awesome to tow with. 3340# loaded up trailer. Front axle weight was 3360, and rear 3300 (both my kids in the truck). Anderson WD and sway control hitch. I managed 12mpg! kept it at 65 the whole way... babied it accelerating.

Even stopped at the dealer ship to get the trailer tires filled... realized I hadn't double checked before leaving... glad I did stop because they were more than a few pounds low! Thanks Koch Route 2 Toyota in Lancaster!

Girlfriend wanted to go camping. She asked if I had everything. I said I did. So we went tent camping, and sleeping on the ground sucked more than I remembered (23 years in the Army, most of it Infantry). So..we bought a TT. Never a tent and the ground again. It's a 24 foot Jayco Jayflight. Superb camper with 1 slide, we hope it will fuel all of our adventures.

I belonged to a Tundra towing FB group and towing way over payload is very common. Lots of folks pulling 5th wheels way over. Pin weight on a Reflection is easily over 3,000 lbs

We have a rockwood esp 1640 popup that we towed with our GX460. Now that we have a tundra we plan on selling and upgrading to a TT with one slide out. Growing family requires much more room haha.

We also had a four wheel camper on our frontier that we absolutely loved but outgrew.

We bought some land and I was looking for a cheap RV to camp up there.

My wife donated blood and was automatically entered in a contest for a RV Camper - and won - out of 400,000 people. Thanks American Red Cross!

Unbelievable luck! Brand new Keystone 262BH.

The RV forum guys don't seem to be Tundra fans. https://www.keystoneforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52120

Entertaining read on the forum link, lol. Every RV forum will tell you you need a F450 duelly to pull anything more than a utility trailer. Enjoy.

Backcountry 22F. 4300 lbs dry. Towed 400 kms through the mountain passes. Able to overtake slower traffic up some of the steepest grades. Very impressed with the Tundra. 072A1D40-74F8-47E4-A636-FC1BDD9D08E3.jpg

    That's awesome, @GeoJoe! Congrats!

I'm on the Forest River forums and yes, you are correct, they don't like the Tundra on the towing forums. It is often referred to as "more engine than truck." I generally don't even mention it as I'll just be told I should "upgrade" to an F150. :D

Nice! Perfect weather for it here in the PNW this week! Where are you staying if you don't mind me asking? That campground looks familiar to me.

Spent two nights at our cabin in packwood. This campground is KOA in Astoria. Headed to Peach Beach RV Park tomorrow to finish off the last 3 nights of our trip.

Saw this monster outside our campground.

How do y'all do towing with the stock P-rated tires? My trailer has a max gross of 7000lbs and I'm guessing I'm in the high 6000s.

I've been towing with D rated KOs but I might be going to some TRD OR takeoffs with P rated Michelins.

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

Mine does just fine. My trailer's GVW is 7200, and like you I'm probable running somewhere in the +6,000 range. I have Michelin Defenders on my truck and I just increase the pressure to the 44psi max when I tow, seems to work well. Also, make sure to use a good weight distributing hitch.

The stock Bridgestone Duelers on my truck do surprisingly well. As mentioned above I air them up to 38-40. My RV is about 6k loaded. I'm anxious for them to wear out tho and I can get something capable for light off road. Probably Michelin LTX A/T2. It will be awhile since they only have 18k miles and I only do about 6k miles/yr.

Thanks for the replies. I have the chance to put either P275/65 or LT275/70. I'm leaning towards the taller LT, they are 10 ply though which doesn't lend to ride comfort imo.

Damn that's awesome dude. Congrats! I wouldn't worry too much about what they say about Tundras on that forum either. The best thing I've pulled my camper with is my dad's GMC 2500HD. But that aint in the budget, and the Tundra does fine with a mod or two.

Speaking of... that's a helluva Tundra you've got. Between that and the camper, that's like 60' of vehicle.
