Hope all is well during this time. Just curious of what everyone recommends for tire. I’m looking for A/T or M/T, I’m liking the Nitto Ridge Grapplers but interested in what everyone else thinks. It’s for my 2016 TRD PRO and 295/70/17

I have Goodyear Duratracs and love them although they’re louder than the ridge grapplers

I wanted duratracs for my old Tacoma but went with BFG ko. They were really good but I love how the duratracs look too.

I have BFG KO2's right now but trying to decide between Cooper XLT's, Toyo ATIII's or Nitto RG's ??? when its time to replace. Tuff decision, guess I could buy all 3 with different rims and then just swap them out every 5k miles....hmmmm

Toyo AT2 extremes. Never felt like my tire was a limiting factor. They're American made, which is something I always try to look for. I've also had the non Extreme version which are much quieter. Wouldn't recommend the Extremes for a commuter

Defenders are the best tire for like 95% of scenarios. I like my Ridge Grapplers, they ride decently and wear well. Nowhere near as good on road as the Defenders but they do look cooler.

Depends on where you live, weather you see, and what you wanna do with them. If it never leaves pavement and you don't need looks, stick with some P class tires for mileage and ride. If you hit the dirt and such, or want more aggressive tires, then there's a ton to choose from. Pick out a few that you like and go ask your local tire guy that is going to be balancing and rotating them. See if he has input on what ones are easier to deal with, and see the fewest problems. Check the warranty stuff too. I know we have a Discount Tire rep on here somewhere, but I am terrible with names.

I've run BFG KO2s and they are great for everything EXCEPT rain. Wet pavement is their bane. I've heard lots of issues with balancing too, but I never had trouble on the sets I had. Still, I'm going to do Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires for the Tundra. I read up on the history of the company, and have talked to several people that have them. None have ever said anything bad about them except they wish they looked more aggressive.

Good luck in your hunt for rubbers!

I agree. I stuck with the P rated as it’s a daily commuter in all weather along with being a family road trip vehicle.

Having an off-road style tire, with an aggressive sidewalk pattern and maintaining the nice ride... win win.

Always been a big BFG guy. I've owned KO2s in 31, 33, 34(currently), and 35. Loved them all. Also running KM2s in 33". Great on the rocks! I have Cooper Discoverers on one of my Tacomas and Toyo Open Country on the other. Really satisfied with both.

Yeah, mine is my DD, but I also wanna get off the pavement with it, probably tow, and get some kayaks and a bed rack. Not sure I will have a P rated tire, but I want the Falkens.

I’ve been nothing but pleased with my cooper st maxx tires. They were on my taco now the tundra. Same set. Quiet on the street and great off road.

I feel like this was supposed to be Cooper ST MAXX, which is my vote.

That's a big question - I went with Conti TERRAINCONTACT A/T's. I wanted something great in wet conditions, could do snow, was smooth higway riding but also offroad. These fit the bill.

That said hard to argue with Michelin - that is what I buy for just about every other scenario on my other cars.

Duratracs are the way to go. I love them. They are a little loud. But not unbearable.
