I can certainly deny that for them. This is a bunch of jokers that mean no harm. The question you posed seemed to be something that is highly unlikely to the point that the assumption is that you are kidding around.

Toyota would go out of business if they had to purchase back all Tundras with rust issues due to weather in specifically localized areas.
Don't take offense, we are all used to joking around with everyone. They really messed with me at first, and still do may I add. If they don't stop hurting my feelings I might need to find another forum.

To be fair, Toyota bought back a shit ton of tacomas at 1.5 KBB before doing a full frame replacement...then crushed them all

From weather related rust? I'm picturing what his question to be as that of a northern driven vehicle. Were the Tacomas rust prone for a metal related reason or did they just buy any old rusted tacoma? Also, with the dilemmas being experienced right now can you picture them buying back rusty Tundras?

I'm not quite sure, but I believe it was related to a metal issue. Yes the salt on the roads contributed to it but they did find a specific issue with the frames, I forgot the manufacturer of the frames, but iirc they were exposed to a chemical or something like that from the factory.
I had my 99 taco bought back. I drove it for 5 years and they paid me what I paid for it (18k) Then gave me a grand cash towards a new Tacoma, that's when I got my 08 brand new (29k), which i drove 8 years, traded (got 19k) for my 15 tundra. I made out big time but it was a frame metal issue, the salt caused some kind of interaction. Not just simple rust from not taking proper care of your truck in a northern state.

Yup. That's it. It was a chemical reaction with the salt and whatever defect the frames had. Dana paid big time I'm sure but...still had or have contracts with Toyota since then

You're right. Unless OP can prove this is a manufacturer issue, which would be known by now. The fact that the owner(s) of this particular tundra didn't take care of it....is not Toyota's fault
