Lots of awesome hiking :D . Sorry about the knee.

There is a nice drive up Old Stage Rd that will take you up to Victor and Cripple Creek. The Broadmoor Hotel is right there. Lots of crazy history there. 8D695CBB-6C37-498A-91BC-4962698100D0.jpg

Very nice drive. Prefect for a white Tundra with suspension mods. Stop at the lookout, the ponds (on your left, there is a nice quiet area one can pull into). Stay the hell off Eagle Rock and Suran Wrap. I don’t want any text messages.

The drive back on highway 24 is pretty and one can stop at the entrance of Pikes Peak Tollway and have a very nice meal at “the wines of Colorado”.
    http://winesofcolorado.com/
Great chance to taste wines, have a Bison burger. One can go up to the top of Pikes Peak, but mind you this is a 4 hour round trip.

Manitou Springs is a tourist trap that is pretty awesome, but mostly walking, so I advise someone with special needs to stay out of that area. Lots of steep inclines.

A drive through Garden of the Gods is wonderful. Hopefully the weather is clear for you to really take this in. I really don’t appreciate the beauty since I can almost spit on it from my doorstep 54A1AB2F-2198-42A7-9E48-B17228006E99.jpg
    D0C2A482-AD04-4B36-AAFF-9A4CFFE35A43.jpg

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is cool, but not sure that would be a good idea unless you have a Jazzy.

Stop into Magnum Shooting center. Indoor range, very nice facility. While in the area, Bass Pro is just 1/8th mile away.

I would recommend Red Rocks Open Space, but your knee would not like you.

Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Texans can’t resist.

Air Force Academy. This property is awesome. Hiking is great, but not recommended.

Up north of Colorado Springs is Monument. 105 is a nice drive.

Just north of Monument is Larkspur. Just go.

    Night life:

The Famous is pretty damn good. Spendy, I warned you. I have had a 500.00 bar/food tab in that flippen place.
The Melting Pot, excellent food and experience if you like fondue. Again, spendy. A couple will be 130.00. Very romantic setting. Connor is suave, so watch out for that young buck.
If your like me, I like fun, local bars:
The Public House, Hatch Cover, Dublin House, The Bee (high end bar, not prices, across from the Boardmoor Hotel).

I know they are shutting it down in the winter time now Ron. Not sure exactly on the dates. I think the cost now is ridiculous as well. A lot has changed since when you were serving our great nation at Carson.

Depends on snow. Most of the time, the plows keep it pretty clear, or they close the road half way up.

I worked at the top of Pikes Peak for 3 months in the late winter, early springtime installing new primary in the road, so they could pave all the way to the top.

That was some nasty weather, and driving class A vehicles up there was a bit sporty.

The 12th is the only day I could play host. Saturday's I have all my kids' games and I'm booked. Maybe we all can go to a park; do some grillin' and drink beer. bring some lawn game, etc. Easy way to get everyone together if the weather cooperates. Unless Bre wants to tourist around town.

Or...drive to a Denver area as there’s a lot more of us in Denver opposed to the Springs (1-2.5 hours depending on location)

    Everything. Literally.
I live in the springs. There’s a lot of touristy stuff to do. Garden of the gods is cool, cave of the winds if its still open. Manitou Springs is a cool/wierd little town, cool way to spend an afternoon. The cog railway is the sketchiest train ride ever up the side of pikes peak to the summit. You’re from Texas so you’ll probably die from asphyxiation at the top though lol. The “downtown” bar scene is a shit show, so don’t do that.
Depending on how long you’ll be here, Denver has a lot more to do. Bigger city, more stuff going on.
...enter @ColoradoTJ and the rest of the Denver guys..

I’d stay at the Miners Exchange if I were looking for a hotel. It’s central, and reasonably priced for a single room.

There are a bunch of dope local breweries too.
