I'm in a 17' Platinum and the overhead console switches for the sunroom tilt/slide are not illuminated and impossible to see at night. My wife's 14' Highlander is lit up like a Christmas tree and nicely visible. Yes, this is a first world problem, and I wouldn't ever really complain about this awesome truck. I just don't understand why the missing pieces in the Tundra are in other vehicles they build, but left out. It's the Platinum trim, they could put the lighted switches in the friggin' thing!!! Yes yes yes, poor me and my non-illuminated, Platinum sunroof switches, sniffle, sniffle.

The only irritation of mine you guys haven't mentioned is fact that an equivalent GM could have up to 1000 lbs more payload if optioned correctly.

It’s not difficult at all. Just need to check the fluid level at the proper trans temp.

I am hoping for a BluRay release or at least an HD download.
It was viewable live and for 2 days on demand for $15 last month.

Alright Damnit you got me riled up now too!?

How is there no locking Gas Cap Door on these trucks anymore?

My 2001s have all had them and I am baffled by the omission until I realize that this must have saved them $50 maybe while leaving us vulnerable to both thieving assholes and pricey locking gas caps!

And I didnt even realize that I was or should be aggravated until reading this thread?!

And I am not going to use commas or apostrophes anymore because I am so pissed!

I didn’t buy a Tundra sooner... Going in I researched enough to know my mpg’s we going to be poor. But on every other vehicle I owned I learned little tricks that save about a .5 to 1 mpg according to my OCD calculations...nothing is working on the Tundra.

I love the truck and I have a Corolla to commute/run errands so it’s not irritating per se. It’s annoying that during my 23 + years of driving none of my gas saving tricks work...

While I don't do this myself since I drive moderately, there's guys that say stomping on it actually gets you better mileage since it's gets that big 5.7 up to cruising speed quicker.

I can’t complain about much. I honestly love my 21 Pro , but for a 60K “off-road truck” the lack of storage is ridiculous. My 06 Taco Double cab at least had storage under the rear seats and side compartments in the bed.

I'm actually really impressed with what I can get on the highway. Drive slower, turn off cruise control and hold the throttle position, letting your speed drop as you go uphill.

Really shutting off the cruise control? I thought would be counter productive... On flat ground I get excellent mpg...about 19-20 doing 67. Where I live is very hilly and that is bad for mpg’s.

Cruise is probably better than you are on perfectly flat ground. But if there are any hills, it will gun it to try to maintain your speed up the hill. Better to hold the accelerator and let the vehicle slow down a bit going uphill then regain that speed going down the other side.

Thanks, I didn't realize GM worked that way too.

Somebody mentioned locking gas cap to keep thieves out... I'd rather Toyota find a way to better protect the cats. I can more easily afford a tank or two of gas, even with the 38 gal. tank.

1st world problem: These are not backlit for night time driving. I have to turn on the overhead light to find them.

You'd think there would be a Toyota accessory you could buy from the dealer. I solved the no locking gas cap problem with a $12 Stant locking gas cap. I've had it for over a year and no problems so far.

This is what I do as well, traffic permitting.

By far the best way to save gas is getting behind a big rig. I've achieved 20MPG when towing by finding someone who is headed the same way and staying behind them for a couple hours. With the adaptive cruise control this should be a piece of cake.

How about Toyota not doing a nationwide recall on the cam tower seal leaking?? I am still bickering with them to fix mine even though I am only 3,000 miles past 60,000 mile warranty. So far they said they would cover parts, labor was on me. $2,600!!! Ridiculous for a reoccurring problem.

I wonder how frame and bed rust issues compare to the 2nd gen trucks?

    Thank you...
Just waiting for a warmer weekend to install it..
Maybe next Sunday, or I'm off week in March.

I was reading thru this thread it to post the 3wliner module and saw that @Black posted it.
He helped me by answering some questions before I bought mine.
    Looking forward to installing it..
It seems to rectify the main bitch in this thread..

As to the most irritating thing about my 2014?
Don't really have any I can think of.
Any issue that I've had, I modded it to my liking.

This is easily fixable from what I've read. You can cut out a screen (gasket?) in the air intake or use one from a Sequoia.

Weather. Meh! We are the same but covered in Ice at the moment. Supposed to get 8-10” of snow next few days.
My Falcon shocks arrived Friday who knows when I’ll get to put them on.

My #1 would be the lack of an unlocked 4hi mode, like the Sequoia has, for mixed patches of ice and bare pavement as we so often get on the prairies. With the 7 year ECP I suppose I could treat it like a rented mule and then sell it, but that's not my nature.
