Yeah, this lady was previously a home owner and she did great for the first few years. But apparently she isn’t as home as much now, and her kids are lazy and don’t take care of shit. Once Covid is done it’s new tennant time.
Of course she never told me she was living out of the country for most of the year.

I built a bed frame because I didn't like any from the furniture store. turned out decent.
Yeah i run apartments and we use that to clean the building, helps clean the mildew and algae as well as prevent it.

let me know what you think. I need to blow the pine needles off the roof then do my gutters. To bad those stupid gutter guard things don’t work. At least I didn’t buy them.

Oh man, our house is surrounded by evergreens, and I knew what my roofs would end up like. The gutter guy recommended these gutter traps, and they work excellent! I’ve never had to get up on the roof and clean my gutters out. Only a few 1.5”+ rainstorms that have blown through quick without other rain weeks prior. That doesn’t happen very often.

I made it out of some 1/8 flat bar. https://youtu.be/xqV491vhh0M You make a little bending jig with 1/2 in plywood. I've seen some on Amazon as well.

Ours had “traps” in them when we moved in. I am now missing like half of them in the back from them either randomly coming out during heavy rains....or my dog finding out he could play with them. I guess it’s important to note that the “traps” were pieces of sponge on top of the little grate thing. Anyway I need some new ones. Maybe I’ll look into trying to get some if I am going to pressure wash the gutters in the next couple weeks.

Anyway spent the last two days digging out rail road ties used as sidewalk edging along the front and side of the house. Then thank god there is only one place in the pdx area you can dump them. So today I had to cut them down into 4ft pieces. Next week they are off to the dump. Looks like I’m getting a trailer and making multiple runs.

We have an older shed I t he backyard that is 8x10’ barn style. We got a much larger one when we converted our garage into living space. The smaller shed was getting pretty dilapidated so I went shopping for one and it was going to cost between 1200-1500 to replace. I just don’t have that right now. Our backyard is wooded and it remains damp much of the year which reeks havoc on the wooden structures. So I went to Home Depot and bought some lumber and new sidewalls. I have replaced both sides and the rear and retrimmed them. I also skinned the floor with new plywood. I still have to do the front with the doors when the weather gets better. But overall I am very happy with it so far.

As an aside, these sheds are pretty flimsy as you start removing the sidewalls. It was definitely an economy building soon had to brace it internally as I worked around. There was a situation where one of the braces slipped and I swear the whole thing almost came down. The wife came out and helped me retrace it. Can’t wait to get it finished now

Dropped 5 x 4gal backpack sprayers of weed killer on the front yard today, still need to do backyard another day. Apparently my weed&feed didn’t “weed” very well.
Also dropped 6 x 4gal backpack sprayers of Kill-All on the gravel driveways. Working on my 7th right now. Hopefully that finishes it up.
Should’ve used the ATV with 30gallon sprayer. Thought it would go quicker.
    4 hrs later.

Yesterday: Removed built-in master bath vanity, mirror, and associated carpet (yeah, carpet up to the vanity). Extended mbr flooring under vanity, repaired wall.

Today: painted wall, installed new vanity.

Finished up my front of the house garden beds. Ended up taking almost 4yards or rock. My back hurts. Moving that stuff by shovel into wheelbarrows is straight devilish work! Gonna end up doing bark or just dirt in the back yard beds I think. Still gotta wait a week or so before I plant the last 3 fragile plants and that’s why there are mounds of rock in places.

Imma get that once I start my baseboard production company next week. I have to baseboard the entire house. Sigh.

Couldn’t get the others in with vanity in place, so put them in prior.

    Thanks for looking out!

Also, while I was tacking in baseboards and had the air hose in the house, I got the 1/4” on the back side of the kitchen island.

This alone beats the hell out of the honey oak backing board that was there.

    Island project will start soon.

I ended up buying a battery nail gun and man has it come in handy. So much nicer that wheeling out the compressor and fishing an air hose through the house.

Ryobi since I already had a lot of the batteries and the price was right. Works great especially for finish work.

We have had this same issue on and off for years, were also on a well, some years we get it some we don’t. I was frustrated with not finding any sure fixes so I emptied out some water from our hot water heater and poured in 16 ounces of hydrogen peroxide. Ran hot water through all the faucets and it worked great, smell was gone. Every time the sulfur smell starts we do this and it immediately fixes the problem.

Good call. I’m set on the rigid system (batts, etc), but with all of the baseboarding i have ahead, I’ll look into it. Thanks for the idea!
