Trying to figure out what to do with this ‘flower bed’. Any landscapers out there? It has a drip system going to it so here’s my initial though:
3 peony on the right side with some sort of ground cover (dwarf boxwood) or flowers on the left driveway side. Then basalt rock (1” or 2” clean) to cover since we deal with a lot of pine needles and bark wouldn’t fare well.

Finally rocked my ceiling after 15 months of a hole from a bathtub leak. New LED pods going in as well.

Drywalling ceilings sucks, especially when you're alone. I hate hanging sheetrock of any lknd, nevermind a ceiling. I suck at doing it too, unless it's new work. I'll have someone come tape it to fix my mistakes lol.

    Flux capacitor!
Breaking a cast iron tub like that can be fun with a sledge hammer. I’ve done that a few times.

Decided to redo our closet. Had non functional design with old wire shelving. Ran the tile from bedroom into the closet, painted walls and ceiling, hung new fixture. 71A4EDC2-8334-4E51-8380-0523DF29B138.jpg
Bought two prefabricated “Allen & Roth” 24” closet units. Left one untouched, and ripped one unit in half to make two 12” units for each side and finished it off with new furniture grade wood sides(s) and painted to match.

Cut down a spruce tree by the driveway that I've been meaning to get rid of since we moved in last summer. Found out it was rotted pretty bad in the center so glad to see it go.IMG_20200412_131557.jpg IMG_20200412_131608.jpg

Spent sometime thinking about adding an outlet in our hallway since our two young daughters needed a night light when the gotta get up in the middle of the night and pee. Ended up doing a bit of research and gave this SnapPower rocker switch cover plate a try. Works great and does the job. Took all of 36 seconds for removal and installation.

Finally acid stained the shop floor.
Have 3 more days to dry before finishing with poly. Can’t wait!

Anything special for the relocation that has to be done? Renovating my downstairs bathroom and I want to swap the toilet and vanity location. They are both on the same wall but it goes...toilet, vanity, shower...and it should be vanity, toilet, shower. Going to be going down to studs and redoing drywall, can rip up floor to joist if needed too, throwing new sheets down after is no big deal.

thinking of doing ours soon. Did you go with custom or prefab cabinets? Any good cabinet vendors you’d recommend? All I’ve been seeing are low graded imports here.

Almost finished with fire pit. First time laying brick. My honest opinion, I don’t like it. So I might put another layer over it.

Have you thought about adding a cap stone? I think it would look great with a cap. I have an outdoor fireplace in my near future as well. The wife's wish list is getting long and expensive.

Stop in to Yates and see if they have any scrap or broken marble slabs laying around. They might be able to hook you up since you don't need much!

8 hours of raking this week (over a two day span. My hands are bleeding! ), yard is finally cleaned up and ready for summer. Now waiting for warmer weather so I can plant some pretty flowers and put my humming bird feeders and bird baths out :).

Had my basement redone a couple weeks ago with new paint and new Vinyl Plank flooring, and OMG what a difference! The air is so much fresher after my floor guy removed the 20 plus year old gross carpeting down there. Now it's as simple as a sweep and mop! A room I am happy to come home too finally!

Forgive my newness to home improvement, but what does the acid staining achieve? A different look for the concrete? That last picture is the final product?

This is what I have been working on some of the day.20200415_135433.jpg 20200415_182122.jpg
