Wrapped up some electrical and lighting work in the garage this weekend. Added three LED overhead main lights, three directional LED's and moved the LED hangers over to a new worktable area. Also added a bunch of new outlets, a charging area for lights, batteries, etc, as well as new light switches and breakers. Ended out running conduit for all of it instead of going thru the walls. Was my first go at doing electrical work, so it was a fun (albeit slow) learning process.

Got vinyl plank laid in the front bedroom today. This is the plan for most of the house.

Did some tongue and groove on my patio

Then discovered my roof needed replacing

Then while I was stuck at home while the roofers were here I decided to frame in my den to turn it into a bedroom and be able to reconfigure my living room the way I want.

That’s some serious scope creep you have there. I really like the tongue and groove on the patio ceiling. Nice work.

I like the T&G and will probably be doing this to my porch this spring or summer.
Where did you get the T&G and what are your plans for "finishing" it?

My family is in construction so one of our vendors supplied it. And I stained it with a light oak stain, the pic posted is before I stained it

NOT today’s project, but spanned over the last month when I had free time. Started with doing a shiplap accent wall (for my better half) in master b/r.
That led to playing “just the tip” doing shiplap wall in the eat-in kitchen. As everyone knows, that never ends there-so that led to the kitchen also getting wood.
Actually made a huge difference in the house, and brightened everything up. It’s a small-ish 3/2 and only 1250sqft, so the appearance of more space is an added benefit.

My 40’x105 garage is moving along. My steel erectors are going to work through the weekend and get all the wall panels, windows and doors installed. I should have the insualtion and roof on by the end of next week. A0161F6B-7D2A-44AE-B325-334DB9ED6924.jpg
The Doug Fur timber’s and trusses started to go up this week. This is going to be the main focal point of the center of the barn.

I can't stand dark garages/workspaces and my garage is probably the worst to work in. I decided to do something about it.

    Ordered these LED lights:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F2WMCP2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    and
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GPFDL1K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I installed a box and cover, ran the romex and started hanging lights and covers.

These new LED lights are so bright. Hard to tell, but the florescent lights in the picture are on. That's how bright the LED's are.

    garage lights.jpg

I need to hang 8 more lights, and order more cable cover to make this a clean install.

@ColoradoTJ I'm thinking along the same lines for my garage. I was gonna hang a few tube fixtures but seeing that, I'd be foolish to. That's much more efficient and brighter.

This picture doesn't do it justice either. The mistress was going to put on sunglasses when going through this part of the garage to her side.

Your mistress comes by in the daytime? usually they sneak in at night.

That's perfect, my wife will stay out for fear of migraines.

Looks good I installed the same type in my garage and have been pleased by them, but be careful. Those little clips that hold them up will fail. I added a small dab of epoxy to the clips on each side after installing and also stapled a small strap of safety wire across the middle of each light because after about 6 months one fell (even with the epoxy) and almost hit the hood of my wife's car.

Thanks for the heads up. Will hang with some safety wire.

That would so blow ass if one dropped down and hit the vehicles, let alone my forehead.
