Updated office wall with layout and paint. Took a while to cut everything, caulk it, sand and paint. However, it’s worth it.

I built a bar! Think it turned out pretty nice. Left a slot for a fridge or kegerator. Used shiplap on the outsides. Hardest part was applying protective coating to everything to prevent water damage. 33A3BE0E-81A4-4F9E-BB78-36500A255FE4.jpg AD16CB5B-68DF-406F-B9D9-D33E5895AD79.jpg 8E4B810F-B9C1-4CDD-96B3-2EF7C3D2CE08.jpg

    Thanks guys!
When I said it gets in the rivers, I wasnt kidding. My downspouts literally drain directly into the river. The salmon spawn in front of my house in the fall and there is a large effort to rebuild the run. Fish and game biologists walk down the river 2-3 times a week to mark redds and do fish counts. I know I'm overly cautious but I'm hoping that the salmon run can be restored to a point where I can actually fish for them again.

Thanks for the links Slayer. I haven't seen the copper cat strips before. I'll check them out. Looks like a good long term solution.

I've heard from a lot of people that those copper strips don't work...

Anyone install them and actually have success for more than a year?

Did this over the last few days, mostly after work.

Started with this, got for free from my uncle
    20200217_112011.jpg

I started sanding it thinking I would stain it, but soon realized some of it is fake wood, most of it is real. I changed gears with wifes approval and went for the antique white paint instead.
    20200217_184206.jpg

    Second coat (outsides only)
    20200226_170930.jpg

The doors are outside drying still, I'm pretty sure I'll leave them off. New TV fits perfectly. Total cost was under $20 (not including TV).

    Now time for some Clarkson

    :D
    Well redirect that shit! :p:D
One year of digging trenches would probably take the same amount of time pressure washing, but then you only have to do it once LOL.
My junk eventually dumps into a salmon/steelhead bearing creek as well. And my theory still stands, a few cans on your roof once a year wouldn’t even show up in your report.
My creek is flagged for salmon/steelhead beds and tested, and never came back out of spec. And I do indeed fertilize my field, adjacent to the creek. Along with many others.
I can’t even imagine the amount of Moss B Ware it would take to fuck up any type of fish run on a river that size. Of course, I applaud you for being so incredibly respective and safe, but it’s still just ten smidges too much over board I’d wager. :p:p:D

Eta - I think the most recent WA storm water code is 200ft dump/runoff distance from the closest water body as well. And depending on your roof size depends on how many different run off spouts you have to install. 200ft of earth I think safely removes anything toxic your roof may produce.
I dropped mine right at the 200ft mark from the creek, but the option to let the water hit a splash block right next to your house was an option as well.
I didn’t want my beds/yard flooded so didn’t go that route.

I guess I’ve just never gotten over how bad it sucked to pressure wash a roof - every......single.......stupid.......crack!!!

Wife has been telling me for the last year or two that she wanted me to build her something like this. Finally got her to give me some pictures of what she actually wanted about a month ago and I spent the last three weekends building this. It's a lot tougher to get a project done when you have a two year old that constantly keeps you busy. Finally finished it today and moved it inside and installed the shelves. my Mom has a deck leading into her front door which was rotten and really poorly constructed....now I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing either when it comes to construction, but feel like I can make something sturdy and a little more pleasing to the eye...anyways spent a few days giving her a safer entry deck.

Unfortunately, not yet. Hopefully, I’ll get some nighttime photos done after the next phase of outdoor lighting is all done.
