Almost hit like, but I don't. Do what you've got to and make the best of it.

Pool pump died this morning. Motor locked up. I took it apart and cleaned it up, ordered a new motor and seal kit. $230 vs $520+ for a new pump.
Apparently the shaft seal has been leaking for a minute.

One of the nice things about living in the PNW is that everything stays nice and green. The bad part is that sometimes it grows where we don't want it. I forgot to do the annual roof washing this summer so had to get up and Pressure wash between rain showers today. It is incredible how fast the moss grew this year.

Yes. I use an electric pressure washer and low psi nozzle so I dont damage any shingles. I'd use Moss Killer but that zinc is nasty for other plants and the local rivers.

    to each their own.. but..
pressure washing your roof, even with just a garden hose is damaging it & sucking the life out of it.

    True. I
True. No doubt that it reduces the lifespan, but so does the moss. I have tried nearly everything, including hiring professional roof cleaners. I have found that conventional methods (i.e. soft bristled broom) seem to remove more granules than a light Pressure wash. Tide with bleach and moss killer are not any more effective and I'm reluctant to use chemicals around our house. Everything off our property drains directly into a river that has a recovering salmon / steelhead population. I do appreciate the feedback. I probably should have been clear in my original posting that this is not a recommended fix.

Pool fence went up this weekend, didn’t want to put it up - but with a new baby it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Yesterday, my crew got a break in the weather and we finally had a sunny, but cold and windy day here. They were able to get all the racking and DC optimizers installed on the roof.

They also installed the trough and the new sub panel in the garage and pulled all the conductors through the conduits between the house and garage.

Had the rough electrical inspection today so tomorrow they will be putting the solar panels down and doing the service change out.

Been working on this here and there for a couple weeks. Finally got it to a point that's worth a picture but still have some detail painting to do. Somewhere to hang the coats (coat hooks will be in tomorrow) and somewhere to sit while putting shoes on.

Friday was a big day. My crew installed the solar panels on the garage and the electricians did the service change out.

100A to 200A service upgrade. They had to install a new meter socket as well as a disconnect and separate production meter for the solar on the exterior in addition to installing the new trough, main panel and subpanel in the basement. They cut the power around 9:00 AM and had it all done and the power back on at about 6:00 PM. Everything came out great. I'm lucky to work with such a great crew of guys.IMG_20200221_144556.jpg IMG_20200221_162905.jpg IMG_20200221_162915.jpg IMG_20200222_112124.jpg IMG_20200223_091245.jpg
