That looks great! Did you pre stain all that framing and decking? Covered porch I assume from the vertical posts? In this area I have never seen pre stained wood, just pressure treated, and the new norm seems to be using self stick membrane on the top of the joists to prevent rot. Also those logs are pretty damn impressive, idk if I have seen such massive logs in a log home before, that's bad ass

It’s PT wood and I gave everything a coat of clear poly-urethane before construction. Our PT wood out West is brown vs the yellow PT that you find in the East. I’m not sure why the difference.
The vertical posts are to support the 2nd floor deck, which I probably won’t get to until Spring.

I knew from day 1 that I wanted “big” logs. :)

My trim guys are almost done making all my ceiling beams. Next step will be the 1/4” wood inserts and the crown moulding for the coffered ceilings. I always love to see the trim details come together! 9260D1E9-9600-4A2E-A373-0D8B9A0A1164.jpg

Thanks! It's my 1974 AMC Javelin AMX.
401, 4 speed, 4.56:1 gears, 40 series Flowmasters. Really loud and really fast off the line. Top end... Not so much. It's a lot of fun to drive though. 36,000 original miles.

I'll post a better pic soon. I think there's a proper thread for that on this forum.

I have been curious about that stone structure for weeks since I saw it in the background of a few other photos. I was embarrassed to ask wtf it was. That is a really really cool idea and honestly I thought it was an old existing structure, the Mason did some really nice work there.

Replaced my back fence today, 60 feet with 5.5" cedar pickets, 4 treated 2x4s between each post - top, 2 middle, and one at the ground for the weed eater to hit. Fully screwed the entire fence.

Don't have pics yet but will get some.

Trimmed my bushes. Ordered an extendable hedge trimmer from Home Depot. Still required a ladder

I ended up "making" a shim out of cardboard that solved the problem for about a week. I've since added a 2nd cardboard shim that has again "solved" the problem. If this doesn't last I'll come up with a more permanent fix.

For those of you who know about carpet what should it run for install? Looking to replace the carpet in my main living area and hallway, looking like $44yd installed with a higher grade carpet and pad. I don't know much about carpet though and seems like everyone I ask doesn't have any knowledge on the matter. Thanks!

Glad it worked - you can make one up with wood. Use the cardboard to trace it. If you have a jigsaw you can cut it out. If you don’t have a jigsaw, get a pack of window / door shims and a utility knife. Score the wood at the thickness you need and use a little bit of wood glue to hold it in place until you screw the hinges back in. You’ll probably have to pack together three shims for a consistent thickness across the hinge. That should last several years...
