Its a typical northeast blend, rye, red fescue and Kentucky blue, as well as whatever else blows into it. I fertilize in early spring and late fall only. No irritation so this is about as good as it'll look all year, July and August it gets pretty burnt in spots.

It goes completely dormant and dies not grow at all. The ground freezes a couple feet down here in CT and we get alot of snow. It goes dormant around November and starts growing again in April usually. We also have a short dormancy phase of a couple weeks around late July where it doesn't grow and turns brown, unless we get a ton if rain and cool temps. It's hardy grass all in all, survives 100° temp swings throughout the year and comes back every year

How would it hold up here in Texas? Coldest it gets down to 30s and up to upper 90s

I don't think it would do very well. Definetly would need a ton water. It does best in temps under 80. I think it's too hot and dry in Texas for this grass. Plus it would still go dormant for parts of the year so you wouldn't get year round green

Blew off the driveway, pool deck, and garage. Then cranked up all my motorized things. Ran both boat motors on the water hose ear muffs, ran the four wheeler, and took the car for a drive. I try to make sure I run everything once a month if I haven't used it. Kind of a tedious task... starting to think I have too many motorized things that sit for long periods of time. Can't seem to bring myself to part with them though

Finished my little project around my deck. Put in cobblestone boarder between stone and grass, put down 1.5 yard of 1-1/4" native crushed stone. Dug out a bunch of flat rocks from the woods to use as stepping stones. Came out pretty good and cost me $45 (I already had the cobbles other places in my yard that weren't doing any good where they were). I dug in and leveled the stepping stones which makes some more like stairs than they were before. Was probably an 8-10 hour project all in all.
The area used to have some small dark gravel, no boarder where it met the grass, and it had old school quare multicolored thin slate stepping stones. It'll look really nice when the shrubs and flowers green up and bloom

Trying to find more "before" pics. Found one and an in process one.

I'm planning to get a trailer load, probably 2 or 3 tons of the same color stone in the next week or so, but this time it'll be 3/4 inch to spread under the deck so it all matches. The 3/4" is much easier to shovel and spread than the 1-1/4"

Thanks Ron! I'm a little anal about my yard. Way back when, I used to cut lawns and do minor landscaping. Put myself through college doing it, it was a great job, worked alone and when I wanted to. I used to fertilize people lawns (for free, without telling them lol) so it grew faster and looked better. I got to mow it more often and got a ton of referrals because of it lol. I still have and use the mower i bought back in 1997, bobcat 48" walk behind with 15hp kholer, oil changes and belts, used to do 20 - 30 lawns a week, now just my own. I also still have my trailer too from 1997, its heading to scrap yard soon though, got my $300 worth out of it I'd say.

Ours grass is growing freaking quick. I’ll mow it again Sunday. Fortunately, on 5/21 some of the back landscaping will be removed and replaced with stamped concrete. (Back patio)

Same here as far as the grass growing. I have to cut every 4 days or so through June. Then it slows down, when it gets hot in late July and August it can sometimes go 2 weeks. Then in Sept it greens up so nice and grows like crazy til early November

I'm jealous of you getting a patio. I'd do patio over a deck every time if I could.
