What home improvement work did you do today?

Paint is almost done quartz counter tops are on.

 

I’m about 8hrs into staining my cedar post on the front porch. I’ve been trying so hard to not make a mess, but this stuff get everywhere.

 

Just goofing around after I finish mowing the yard. Painted one of the PVC downspout to match the gutter. Now I only have 6 more to go.

I installed 20 65w led can lights and the wiring for my Ceiling fan

 

Looks great. That floor looks really good but is it slippery as hell?

 

Yes, the floor sucks. I’m having it done again in something else. Not only is it IMPOSSIBLE to walk on when wet but it scratches like crazy. I’m have this done in a week or so.

 

I had mine polished pretty good when I did my garage and it sweeps good but if your feet are wet you about bust your ass if you aren't used to it.

 

I do not recommend polishing or any kind of slick epoxy on the floors.

 

I have two and half semi trailers of Zoysia grass being installed for one of my projects. It’s always nice to see a project thats been in planning stages start to come together. I had a new well installed with a separate 5,000 gallon water storage tank to help irrigate the 38 sprinkler zones on the property.

 

Dont know anything about Zoysia grass. Does well in heat?

 

Yes. It’s more drought tolerant and needs less water. More expensive though.

 

Back half of my acre is all crabgrass. Would like to replace someday but can't afford to run sprinklers back there

 

The foundation for a 20 stall horse barn I’m building. It’s getting closer to being ready for my engineers to inspect all the steel work. I should have the foundation poured in 2-3 weeks.
I have 18x piers that are 18” wide being dug into solid rock for my covered riding arena.

This is what the hill country ground typically looks like in my area. SOLID ROCK!

 

While not nearly as impressive as a 20 freakin horse stall...

Original drain field was kaput so this should get me another 57 years.

 

The drill rig is doing 7’ deep in about 45 min.

 

All 38 pallets of zoysia grass were installed this week. All of the new plants will go in next week. Ive got more ornamental iron custom details to complete the courtyard area.

Not much here, just added some plastic chairs around the pit..

 

That’s why I went the acid staining route. You still get the colors and epoxy look, but with a normal garage floor feel.

Almost all of the siding is on, and windows are finally in

@1UPPER I’m doing 2 sliding barn doors on a track. Do you think a big piece of custom flashing (black to match trim) over the doors would look bad?
I had 3 pieces built (30ft) and they were way bigger than what I needed. I’m going to mock up a door today and check dims again.

 

That is a water storage tank for the new well. It hold a little over 4,000 gallons of water. I needed to have that added for the irrigation system. I’m going to put a dry stacked stone on the smaller 3,500 gallon tank in the next couple weeks to match the larger tank.

 

Added racks for the board.... at 10-6 it takes up lots of space.

 

Is the Ryobi electric? Push or ride?
I’m scared the electric market is going to take-over the ride on market.
I’m not exactly sure how I feel about it.
I like the smell of gas, and having to put on ear muffs.
