Yep, everyone is gonna give you the answer to make their job the easiest. But for the best results, flooring is always last. Paint may or may not be last depending on type of flooring.

After months of putting it off, I'm finally tackling the front living room. Lots of nail pops (and screw pops). Since I'm a one man show, I'm going to do 1/3rd of the room at a time so I can just shift the furniture away from the work area. Plan is to fix the pops, add wainscoting, and then repaint. Repeat, repeat.

Apparently a previous homeowner tried to do the same thing but used too short of screws...

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
Cleaned up more leaves, blew out my sprinkler lines, and did an r&r on the front and rear diff fluid on the truck. Oh, and I voted this am. Busy day…

Booger welded the push mower back together. 15 years old and the handle finally stress cracked and broke at the folding mechanism. The deck is starting to get rust holes too and it's held together with scrap wire but the honda still starts on the first pull!:D

Just add some duct tape and you should get at least another 5 years out of it.

My wife did that. She must have done something wrong, she only got 2 years.

I'll have to keep an eye out on the jobsite for a roll of zip tape i can steal to fix the deck. That stuff is like duct tape on steroids.

With that Honda engine, I'd look at a replacement deck.

Duct tape rots too quick for my liking. Gorilla tape is for a one and done application for years to come.

I have some nuclear duck tape. I've had it outside on something for a year and it held up still

Spent the day doing house chores... Sprayed the siding to get some mildew off using chemical stuff from Home Depot (saved me a lot of money doing it myself vs paying someone to power wash)! Washed all the windows inside and out, Cleaned the gutters, and the font metal thing over the door (learned the shingles have fiberglass in them, looking forward to having it work its way out of my arm skin :( , live and learn I guess) Cleaned up the leaves and did some raking, cleaned up the flower beds, put away all the summer and halloween yard stuff, and sadly put up the winter driveway markers!!

Loved spending the day outside, it was beautiful out! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!

This 20+ year old push mower won't die. It did however develop a difficult to pull start issue this mowing season. Turns out a couple of the bolts from engine to deck had fatigued the deck flange out so the engine was just tipping up instead of turning the flywheel. Hack job reinforcement and she's good as new!

I used to have one that started great but to turn it off you had to short it out with a screwdriver...

Think I messed up. The kids keep spraying water from the bathtub and it’s going down this vent. The vent was never seated right because the original idiots tried to just cram it in this stud bay with another hvac run. It was pretty rusted and so I tore it out. Well I need to put a new one in and it obviously won’t fit without ripping out the basement ceiling or the flooring in this bath. Any ideas?

Check the build link in my signature.
I'd go in through the basement ceiling. Fixing sheetrock is a lot easier than tile floors...
but that's also about the stupidest place someone could put an HVAC register. If you're pulling open a basement ceiling to fix it, you might consider finding a different place for it that isn't right next to a tub.

I know. When we remodel this bathroom it will be moved but it won’t get much better since the bathroom is only 5x8 anyways.

Ours was designed like this too. So dumb. When the kids were younger, and took baths, we just put a towel over it.

Going through the ceiling would be a lot easier but if the ceiling is finished, yeah that would suck ,patching, mudding sanding and painting the whole ceiling.
But it will be a solid connection, so the other way around it would be an angled boot,if you can finagle it into place this will be your cheat, for the ends that butt up together you'd need to put FSK tape on the 4" crimp throw to help stop any leakage after that nonsense, toe nail the top flange to the sub flooring with Zip screws (pre drill holes in the lip) to save your sanity.
From my years I'd go through the basement ceiling, you won't be any happier doing the "hack and butch" route.

It says it weighs 250 lbs assembled and I believe it! It's definitely not a high quality solid hardwood construction but at least is all wood of some sort with no laminated fiberboard. The ends you see here are just the ends of the standard length - there are hinges at the end so it'll fold out to add another almost 3 feet!
