Definitely keep the progress pictures coming, are the exterior walls going to be different sized smooth stones or flat, what do you have in mind.
That is going to look cool integrated with the stairs and the twin landings.

As for the pooches, sorry AKA cheap labor dock em!

We just got the same fridge. The interior space is massive and I really love the water pitcher feature.

    It’s awesome
I drink 1-2G of water a day, so filling it up makes it so much easier. The wife usually adds some fruit in there to flavor the water some

I love this thread as it has given me lots of ideas and knowledge for my house project. Long story short, the wife and I purchased our home three years ago and have been slowly but surely working on making it our own. I really wish I would have taken more before and after pictures because we have come such a long way. Anyhow here are some of the photos I do have of our backyard project. The first picture and the last one are taken from the same spot to show the change

    Thanks!
Flat, stacked against the block walls...here's an edging wall on the opposite side of the outer landing, so it'll look similar to this: PXL_20231204_115838517.jpg

Incorporating different stones (I think) is a great idea, kinda like best of both worlds, your not limited or stuck on one kind of landscaping Motif.
Having those landings is frigging key to, it adds more welcoming characteristics and it's a decorative break on a long run of stairs.
I'm excited for you man, I can't wait to see the progress and of course the completion of it.

Keep a keen eye on them laborers :goingcrazy:

New pup doesn't like the gravel so I started digging it out (spread it throughout the backyard) and will put down synthetic turf...roughly 6'X50'

My Ficus' took a beating this summer, lost 5 and had to cut the others way down. Will back fill with something else while Im in there.

Found a ‘scratch and dent’ stove at Lowe’s for $300! It had never been installed but damaged in shipping. The glass top is cracked but the replacement part is only $300 and I’ll swap it out myself . So $600 for a $1500 appliance.

Not really sure...? The previous dog had no issues, not sure why this one wants to avoid it. She does well in the front yard (grass) so I figured Id do turf and make it a legit dog run with auto-fill water source.

I never liked the rock anyway, there's enough of it in the main back yard...it was put in by the previous owners She's an inside dog so really just goes out as she wants and for potty time.

House is N/S facing so its mostly morning/early afternoon sun on the ground there, usually fully shaded by 2-3p as you can see in the pic, taken at about 1p. I think part of the problem with the trees was the radiant heat off the wall.

Finally wrapped up the powder room remodel in my house. Pretty happy with how it came out. Used a little strip of oak to cover the threshold until I rip out the other tile and redo the rest of the house IMG_1399.HEIC.jpg IMG_1400.HEIC.jpg

The threshold looks like a good fit with the countersunk screws, and that vanity looks cool to.
Are the knobs on the vanity doors wireless or do you will them open?

Ha, good eye! No, the knobs that came with the vanity were pretty ugly so we tossed on some bronze ones to match the faucet. Just happened to snap the picture between hardware sets

Looks great man, the picture frames ty in good to!

Ya know it would be really practical if when you buy an expensive vanity, kitchen cabinets, interior doors exterior doors blah blah blah they the mfg should offer you at least a couple of options (with out charge) everyone's taste, motifs are different so why not.
I dunno, honestly I would probably have at least one milk crate full of stupid knobs, shit looking back I should of saved them all and scraped them for like .25 cents.
    Lol!

Hey I noticed the floor register for your HVAC there is a company here in Massachusetts that's makes all kinds of registers, and of different mediums, woods and metals and custom design if you choose.

My first house was built in the mid 1800's and it was forced hot air and all of the registers were cast iron with actual functioning louvers, anyway a lot of them were cracked and I found this company (back in the day) before the internet and used snail mail but they did me right and duplicated what I had for reasonable money.
    https://www.reggioregister.com/

Today you can get what ever you want on the net but just thought I'd share that with ya.

Yeah I think how cheap hardware kits have gotten is pretty silly, you spend all this money for something well built just to go and put a cheap chunk of chineseium metal on it that they got for the lowest cost.

That link is going to be a life saver! All the registers in the house are cheap builder grade (half broken) and I have a toddler running around the place, so I've been thinking about upgrading them to something a little more stout, which now it seems like my options are endless!

Insurance claim from summer hail damage finally went through. Roofer wants to start next weds-thurs. Is it too cold to install new asphalt shingles? Or will it be alright in the sun? A little worried about the north facing shady side sealing, but it's really the west facing side that takes a beating from the wind.
