Do you have something like a Cyclone Rake? I was contemplating picking one up, but they're a little pricey.

Going to be a bit of a slow project, but started removing the drywall from our patio ceiling last week. The drywall has been repaired a couple times already due to small cracks in the tapelines and screw heads over the years. Underneath the drywall I found another layer of ceiling which was a wood paneling that the drywall had been placed over. The wood paneling came down today. The plan is to replace with pine tongue and groove boards that will be stained and polyurethane coated with a satin finish. A new ceiling fan will go back in the middle of the ceiling and new electrical will be run adding a light switch and 8 or 12 flush mounted led recessed light either 4 or 6 on each side of the fan. Will post more pictures throughout the process, but will probably happen over the next month or so.

Any reason the drywall was added over the wood paneling that you know of?

Possibly a small water leak in the roof over the patio before we moved in. We've been in the house since 2006 and the drywall has been up there since. The wood paneling had 2 small spots where it looked like possibe water stains maybe the size of a small plate near one of the corners. My guess is a small leak happened and they repaired the roof then decided to add the drywall over the paneling, but just my theory.

I actually have a hand one that doubles as a leaf blower. I have a large lot by California suburb standards but no where near big enough for ride on stuff.

Make it a bourbon and you'll have a deal. Sign a green card app for me and the family, and I'll be your seasonal gardener. :)

Not to spoil your good times but how CLOSE is that to the wall and gate? I see your in Canada so might never matter but here that would probably cause high head pressure. Also nightmare to properly clean the coil if you cant remove the coil guards.

EDIT- I was late to respond and @FrenchToasty had it covered.

Only took me 17-1/2 years after moving in, but I finally installed weather stripping around the garage doors since we just had the house repainted.

Removed all 4,613 nails and screws from the beams. Some of the nail heads broke off, so I just hammered those flush into the boards. I still need to scrape the perimeter to remove the old caulking.

Went to Lowe's and found a fan I wanted, but they didn't have black in stock and no local stores appear to have it either. I'll have to order it online and go pick it up at Lowe's when it arrives.

Reached out to our contractor that did our remodel about 2 years ago. Waiting for him to confirm availability and we'll get the electrical tackled next.

I need to haul the trailer load of scrap to the dump and then go pick up the new tongue and groove boards also which will probably be next weekend.

One of the first things I did when we moved into our house. I was amazed at what a difference it made in the winter. The fresh paint looks great!

AND another "after only 17-1/2 years" knocked out tonight.
When the house was built, two of the openings for the can lights in the porch soffit were cut a bit ugly. I had been talking for ever about making some custom round "trim" pieces to cover the ugly holes and then simply pushing the can light through a new (clean) hole.

Well, after the repaint, I started looking and found out that they make "oops rings" made out of ~1/8" thick plastic for exactly that reason. So I ordered some, only to then discover that the can light trim on my lights are some odd-ball oversize can (6-1/2" ID) that was too big for the trim rings. So then I said eff-it, I'll just replace them with LED can lights instead. Found a set at HD with a "oil rubbed bronze" finish ring, then slipped the painted "oops ring" between that and the soffit, and done!

Started the treehouse platform build for the kids. Man this is gonna be expensive!
Going in between the two trees with the bottom about 6.5-7ft up. That’s a 2x10 on the top of the one tree brace for size reference.

I'm getting ready to pour a pad next week and looking to do an acid stain & seal on it. Does anyone have any tips/ products to use or to stay away from? I hear a poly seal is best for a satin finish.
