Looking good Mike. That's a lot of work to do alone. I did mine a could years back. Give that pressure treated lumber a few months to dry out and get some stain on it. I highly recommend Armstrong Clark stain. And get their restore a deck kit too. Comes with a cleaner and a wood brightener, it's like an oil based stain, goes on super easy (I actually used a car wash brush and stained my large deck in an hour or so). The cleaner and brightener make the stain go on more even and gets it to the right ph for staining. I got more than I needed, went with 5 gallons, so I could do 2 coats and have enough to stain again a few years later. I'll be buying their restore a deck kit again and another coat of stain this spring. It's well worth the money and I don't think you'll find a better stain. I went with a two tone look on my deck and like how it came out.

Nice running a Jack hammer is the best part of my job. Although customers are not happy about leaks under their slab home.

Not sure this is an improvement other than it is a better one than the replaced failed disposal.

This. I know it's not the "best" but it has good reviews and it's oil based. If it totally sucks I can strip the whole deck it 3 hours, plus some sanding if I get careless with the pressure washer :anonymous:.

It took longer to connect the electrical then anything.
Some DA used a 90o sealtite connector to the KO. (i'm an electrician, wasnt me)
they should have just used a standard romex connector or a straight sealtite connector

I didn't want rails at all. The deck isn't that high. My wife insisted on rails down the side and stairs. We kind of stumbled on those while looking at spindles. They give a nice open appearance while still having the rails. They ain't cheap though.

Oil based is definitely the way to go. I went with Armstrong Clark a few years ago and highly recommend their products. I am due for washing and recoat this summer. I'll powerwash, let it dry a few days and put on another coat. Its held up great and best part was, for the most part I could apply with a carwash brush which really helped speed along the process.
