I'm surprised you didn't notice two different types of wood. I used white oak on all my benches. But half way through this one I ran out of oak, so I used maple.

Finished up my patio in the fall and forgot to post it... back filled with 10 cubic yards of dirt and poured 9.3 cubic yards of concrete to get it done.

    Glad that’s over!!

I’ve got some touch up to do, but it’s nice having another 450 square feet of living space outside!

Got quotes before I started working on it myself... lowest was $18,500. Whole project cost me about 85 hours of work and $3800. Worth it.

    Landscaping begins next week!

The bolts on the front board are not equally spaced from the edges of that board - more space on the front

Looks great! Be glad you don’t live in my area. We typically have solid rock only a few inches down. Example of a hole we had to dig this week for an underground propane tank. Jack hammers and back hoe work. 6F7EC0C0-847C-4A27-A9C3-B9049ACFCD15.jpg

They are all built on site, don’t think drop in liners would hold up here.

That will look good. I highly recommend running a picture frame like boarder all the way around to hide the end grain of the boards. Also I really really highly recommend using GRK brand decking screws, they are amazing and easy to use and dont split wood ends at all. Worth the extra money
