Yesterday I received and setup the Coleman Saluspa I've been thinking about getting for a long time, and after seeing a post here last week from the one @Half Assed bought, finally pulled the trigger. Got to use it tonight, and all I can say is that this thing is Awesome.

Dug up some ‘grass’ because the tree shades it too much and it doesn’t grow well. Was going to just follow the side yard basalt rock and put that down unless anyone has a better idea? It’s kinda way off to the side of the house so it wouldn’t make sense to do anything to cool but I thought maybe some small water feature or something.

Maybe some nice rock as you mentioned. I would also add some lights around it to “pop” at night.

Geez I'm about to go purchase the solar panels! I just looked at my energy bill over the past 3 years. 2020 was a $.01.... per kwh, 2021 was $.03...., and 2022 is at $.06....

So we're having a fuel adjustment jump of about %600 over just 2 years. Our bill used to be around $100 for our 3800sqft home....I just sent a bill for just over $400:mad::annoyed:
I'm about to crunch numbers this week on the solar panel stuff and see if it's worth it (seems like it will be at the rate this is going):(

That sucks man. The wife's new pool jacking your bill up too? Lol
I'm confused by the kwh prices, are you saying it was 1 cent, 3 cents and now 6 cents/kwh?

This is why we just did solar. We we were paying around $300-$400 a month on our little 1500 sq ft house in SoCal……. and everything in our house is either led lights or energy efficient appliances.

Cleaned the shower filter mesh for my fish pond, I found a dead bird in there early this week, first day I just thought it was a dead leaf…….
I wash them over a lava rock basin covered with pea gravel that is the overflow for rain catchment; that is at the canopy line for my grapefruit tree.

Yep, we have a 1,500 sq ft home as well and I just got billed $359.71. But I run the A/C a lot (74 during the day, 68 at night) and we have a pool.

If I lived in So. CA I’d definitely do solar. I live in the NW where the sun does not shine much in the winter, but the summer is where I’ll catch up with credits. Even with hydroelectric here, I’m sure the rates will be going up. Also, I kinda like the idea of having a propane storage and solar so if the power grids go down for awhile, We will be able to function. We also just got heatpumps, so we have reduced our propane usage significantly.

New homes here are electric only, so the power usage overall will be going up, building solar farms for the cities and passing the costs to the consumers.

Noticed the neighbors gate was open when leaving. I pulled over to secure it (they aren’t home today). Gate pin was bent to fuck. Took it off, hammered it out, re-drilled / secured with an impact and good to go. He’s not the handy type of guy so I figured I’ll do it for them. Took all of 3 mins

Converted home generator to natural gas. I hardwired my gen about 5 years ago and that was a great improvement from dragging the extension cords out. Still found it to be a pain in the arse to get gas and to keep it fueled. We live far enough out that even spring summer we lose power and often it goes 8 or more hours, with two refrigerators and a freezers it was even more of a justification to spend the money. Can’t remember what all the piping cost but the converters they have online https://centuryfuelproducts.com/generators/conversion-kits

Conversation and pipe run was all pretty straight forward.

Also decided to build a box, sound and theft.
