    We had our backyard overhauled!

I'm normally a DIY kinda guy but it would have taken me a year to do what these guys did in 2 weeks.

Before: Normally, somewhat green but now dorment, burmuda grass.

I guess I should probably update since I'm nearly done..

After 10 long months I'm nearing the end of my Kitchen remodel. New cabinets from Ikea, Quartz countertops, glass tile backsplash, new flooring, outlets added, lots of drywall (the one thing I hired someone to do) and paint.

Starting the demo... This was after the cabinets were removed and I started filling the multitude of holes

    1CAD39E3-380A-4F3D-88F0-50B102803AB5.jpg

Removed drywall so I can add outlets around the patio door...

    DDAD252D-9AAB-49AE-A221-8AA45B4E9CF5.jpg

New drywall installed.. This would have taken me a week to do, and they knocked it out in a couple days.

    Floor going in...

    EA53F958-E220-4160-9434-B9EE8440D843.jpg

Building the cabinets from Ikea. Super easy and very well made.

    1293ABFC-740A-4638-A0B2-612E40F72754.jpg

Cabinets in place, floor finished and countertops being installed.

    35664151-9E6A-4188-9FC4-124DA47B180E.jpg

And finally under cabinet lighting installed, backsplash in and almost done...

    7816FB61-8584-4EB8-90D7-1DFC86549611.jpg

Ive just got the grout to do on the tile next to the refrigerator, which is to the left of the photo, and I have to get a couple of door handles for the cabinet doors under the sink.

We have Starbucks coffee mugs from all the cities around the world we've visited, and those will be hung up around the soffit on hooks.

So glad this is almost done.....

Took some time off this week to knock out some work on our nursery. Baby due in March so better get after it.

Working on floors, then finish painting and move furniture back in.

Floors before, stripped, and stained. Top coating today and tomorrow. Bona Traffic HD

Well after waiting several months the first semi loads of powder coated steel arrived today for my next garage project. I have a total of five semis worth of steel for the main structure. My client is very excited to see things coming together! I’ll post up some progress photos next week.

I would suggest you goto your HOA presidents house and see what they have for a shed. I can bet you that it didnt fall in the guidelines either. Had to play that same game when I lived in a HOA community and busted both the VP and Pres., of my HOA. After that debacle moved and no more HOA:thumbsup:

Can't wait to see it, your builds are always awesome to follow.

Does anyone have any exterior color suggestions that match well with desert tan colored shingles? My wife and me want to change up our exterior and I'm at a loss picking colors.

Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore Paint usually have booklets in the store that have color suggestions that pair good together. You can also download the Home Depot Behr paint app. They have a feature that allows you to take a photo and change the color of things on the photo. Easy way to get ideas on color before spending any money.

Yeah I've done that, the photo feature is nice but still looks different then actual. I've got a bunch of samples and tried them so far but haven't landed on anything. I'm thinking I need to be in the warmer colors because of the roof color.

You probably know this, but the finish can go a long way into how the color presents itself. Our house was originally yellow with an eggshell finish which made it look kind of dull. We had to get it repainted and I asked our painter to bump the finish up a notch and it looks a lot better and cleaner.

Did this awhile back but forgot to share. Desperately needed some new lighting in the garage. Other than my workbench shop light, all the garage had was this pitiful little lightbulb.

We started erecting the steel today on a garage I’m building for some clients of mine. Should have most of the steel headers up tomorrow.

If they drive a 2.5 Gen Tundra, I'm afraid their shark fin isn't going to fit. You might want to recommend they make it taller... :)

The new light fixture also includes a usb charging connection. So now we can charge anything with a usb connection using the motor home house batteries….. technology ftw!!!

I went around earlier today and cut back all of the stuff that got damaged from our latest freeze. Mostly Turks Cap and Blue & White Plumbago. Couldn't believe how much had grown back from the super freeze we had last year. Nature is amazing.

Built a garage bar with some extra space. Car and truck still fit! Black walnut bar top I made from the tree cut down in his back yard back in 87 and my dad had milled. Lots more still to do.
