Continuation from 7791. The house seems to be on the slow track, as weather has been nasty at times and ….. Anyways some progress, cabinets are in, counters in, and the bathrooms’ tile are in and grouted. A photo of the second bath shower and the master shower(small windows). All appliances arrived, as there have been shortages reported. Kitchen cabinets are in and appliances are being positioned. Trim is going in, fireplace trim done, railing by stairs done, kickboard on stairs done. Still a lot to do.3E92189D-FD6E-4552-90CA-5DE6C3D90765.jpg

We were actually planning on one level but this one lot became available such that we could get the larger RV garage. We ended up with a basement that we had finished off also. More space that we should need but I’m sure we will fill it up in time. This way I get a separate office area on the lower level.

so we've been planning a pool for a lil while and have been on the waiting list since late April. 2 weeks ago we got some samples to take home and pick what we wanted. Turned them in. They called yesterday and said they were going to our house to spray out the outlining and let us look it over and make changes. We sent a couple small changes over this morning. They are going to probably respray it today according to what we asked and they will probably be digging this week! So we're pretty pumped! I like to do my own projects, but I figured I'd leave this one to the pro's. Using a very reputable company that has been around for about 25 years in our area. Took a pic from the roof. Not best pic since it was getting late and darker thanks to this wonderful time change *insert sarcasm*. it'll be off our back porch and will have a hot tub with overflow, a tanning ledge on each end with the deepest being 5', and a waterfall feature on the back end.

Beware though of the disclosure you have to sign. In short....just swimming in the same pool as me may get you pregnant.

You going to design it in such a way that once the drunken fuhkery starts, we can jump in from the roof?

Well, the digging started today. They estimate it'll take about 4-6 weeks depending on weather and other typical factors. No real rush since we're in the cold season now.

I've been overhauling the lounge/listening room which also becomes our #2 overflow guestroom with the Murphy bed on the right wall.

Paint, wallpaper, new rug, new seating, new baseboards, new windowsills, etc...

The goat barn and fence when we bought the place back in June.

The demise of the 100+ year old goat barn.

long story short, I never liked it. Never going to have goats, the fence wasn't good enough to keep the pups in. When I went in the thing to start using it for storage the floor about gave in on me.

Didn't take much to knock it over. We picked up some of the wood and it literally crumbled in our hands.

Need to bounce this off y'all.
Over range exhaust fan was not vented when we bought the house. It was one of the things that was written up in inspection report that the seller had to fix. It was vented up into the cabinet overhead so it really wasn't doing anything as far as getting fumes out of the house. I cook a hamburger it would linger for a while.
    upload_2021-11-20_8-12-55.jpg

Long story short it just got vented this week. Vent is straight pipe then a flex, 4" that's routed out to the roof vent that was already in place.
Since it has been installed the fan now has a very noticeable vibration when on high. Of course this didn't happen before venting.
I'm suspecting the pipe is too small for the volume the fan generates. What do y'all think?

Kitchen exhaust hoods usually require a minimum 6” round pipe or an equivalent shape of same area. Rigid also if possible, the flex will cause a reduction in flow.

correct most oven fans are 6” and some are 10”. 4” is too small.

    Flux capacitor!
The vent only be 4” sounds to small for sure. If you look up the specs on the exhaust fan it should call out the requirements. A 3-4” vent is typically used in bathroom exhaust fans.
