Yeah, my TV is a Samsung. So is my tablet and my last phone. They make good electronics. They couldn't engineer an Easy Bake Oven though.

Going to start shopping for a fridge without a water dispenser or ice maker. Don't need that crap. Any suggestions for a stainless french door model, made by an appliance company not a computer company?

    Leaning towards GE and Whirlpool.

My Samsung washer was junk, my 2018 Samsung TV has 2 purple spots now (they used LG panels that used glued on the LED chip lens that could not hold up to the heat of the led chip and the lens would fall off creating an 8" purple halo). Going back to a Sony TV once any more lens fall off.

I have old and new Samsung TV’s. Oldest one is porn 10 years old (it’s in the basement) zero issues. Hell, we got that for around 2-3K when they first came out lol

I recently replace a Maytag that was 30 years old. I had to replace the freezer door gasket not too long ago, availability sucked. When the defrost stopped working we replaced it with a Fridgedaire. No complaints so far, but it's not French doors, top mounted freezer. . The Maytag was our main refrigerator at our old house and the porch refrigerator here. The fridgedaire is also on the porch.
Our main one is a Subzero. It's been solid. In 15 years we've only had one problem. But at 7 to 10 times the cost of other brands I don't know that I would recommend it. Bottom freezer, two drawers.

We've had good luck with LG's. We have a Sony and I hate it because it likes to randomly do some kind of Android reboot. The LG at least tells you it's going do update the software when you turn it off. Our oldest TV was bought by a friend of mine a few years before he died - his wife gave it to me. It's an old Pioneer plasma TV. Has great speakers.IMG_0274.jpg

LG for us. Our last LG fridge had an issue with the condenser but we bought the Lowes warranty on it so we were able to get a newer model. Supposed to be getting a check from LG any day now too.

I braved the 150% humidity go out and take the dead bulbs off of our string lights. I was going to upgrade them but we have three different hummingbirds that like to sit on them throughout the day. So I'm going to order some more bulbs and leave them up to appease the birds. I'm cool like that.

Our Samsung did the same thing. We had it "repaired" once and I took a couple of tries and gave up. The repairman said the Samsung will only last 5-10 years. We bought an LG, with ice maker and cold water, and so far so good.

Oh, and do not even think about Electrolux.

Thanks! A local handyman did it. What was cool is that I told him how big we wanted it and that I wanted those eyebrow things around the trees. He surprised me and made it "fancy" at no extra cost because I coach Special Olympics. He said we deserved a "rich mans deck." Really great guy.

Good to have neighbors with proper equipment. I cut most of it up and they brought the tractor and dump trailer up clean it up. Power company guys considered the 20ft trunk standing good enough so the neighbors are coming back to cut it the rest of the way.

I have one of the freeze prone refers from Samsung as well. the coils froze up just like yours. My ice maker freezes over as well and will not make ice. I went to a large appliance store in town and spoke with one of the sales people there about the Samsung issue. She told me they are prone to these issues, as well as a few others. I told her about a GE monogram refrigerator I have in the garage as a drink refer and overflow freezer storage that we bought 20 years ago and still works fine. Her advice to me was to buy a Bosch. No external ice or water. The thing she said made them so good is they used two compressors, one for the refrigerator, one for the freezer as opposed to one compressor for both. Two expensive parts to fail vs. one? Tough call, as I keep my Samsung limping along with regular defrost sessions when the coil freezes over.

I've had LG Fridge, spend a lot of money on it. Compressor went out 3 months after warrantee ended.
Mother in Law had a 40 year old Whirlpool running in the garage without AC or heat, it sat in there probably 15 years. It was still running when we donated it to Hospice house.

My rule of thumb now, don't by an appliance from a cell phone company and don't by a cell phone from an appliance company.

    We're running a Whirlpool now.
